Abstract

This study investigates junior high school students' perceptions of Wordwall game media and its effectiveness in enhancing English reading comprehension at a junior high school Jakarta. The study highlights the urgency of improving reading skills among Indonesian learners, noting that traditional teacher-centered methods often fail to engage students effectively. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, a questionnaire was administered to 30 seventh-grade students to assess their perceptions and learning outcomes related to Wordwall. Results analyzed through PLS-SEM in SmartPLS 4 show a strong and statistically significant relationship between students’ positive perceptions and their effectiveness in reading comprehension. A path coefficient of 0.916 and R² of 0.839 suggest that perception substantially predicts learning effectiveness. The study also confirms that Wordwall's interactive and gamified features promote motivation, focus, and enjoyment in learning. These findings support integrating digital game-based tools into English language instruction to foster student-centered and engaging learning environments. The study contributes to the broader field of educational technology by offering evidence-based insights into how gamification can enhance academic outcomes in EFL contexts.

Abstract

Abstract

The development of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) presents both new opportunities and challenges in the field of education. This technology has the potential to transform learning practices, assessment, and knowledge management. However, its adoption process is not linear and is influenced by pedagogical, social, ethical, and institutional factors. This study aims to analyze the adoption of Generative AI in education using the Diffusion of Innovation Theory framework. The research method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 27 reputable national and international journal articles published between 2022 and 2024. The literature selection process followed the PRISMA guidelines, consisting of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion stages. The findings indicate that Generative AI offers relative advantages in supporting personalized learning, improving learning efficiency, and expanding access to learning resources. However, complexity of use, compatibility issues with academic integrity values, and concerns regarding ethics and data privacy are major barriers to adoption. The successful utilization of Generative AI in education requires innovation diffusion strategies supported by institutional policies, enhancement of digital literacy, and reinforcement of educational and cultural values.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the development of research related to Islamic bank spin-offs using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach.Research Design & Methods: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted by analyzing 25 studies published in SINTA and Scopus indexed journals. The selected studies were categorized into five themes: regulatory compliance, market structure, performance, financing & third-party funds, and implementation challenges. Qualitative descriptive analysis was used to synthesize the findings and identify research gaps.Findings: The findings indicate that while spin-offs enhance Shariah compliance, they frequently impose a financial burden due to the 50% asset requirement. From a market perspective, newly spun-off banks experience difficulties in retaining customers and a competitive position. Although profitability tends to increase, operational efficiency declines due to higher costs and limited economies of scale. In addition, many UUS fail to meet capital requirements, leading to alternative strategies such as mergers or acquisitions.Implications & Recommendations: Policymakers need to reconsider the 50% asset requirement, potentially shifting to a fixed capital threshold. In addition, offering regulatory incentives may help strengthen newly spun-off banks. Future research should compare spin-offs, mergers, and acquisitions to determine the most effective strategies for growth in Islamic banking. Contribution & Value Added: This research provides a comprehensive synthesis of the dynamics of spin-offs, highlighting their impact on regulatory policy, market structure, and financial performance. The findings provide practical recommendations for policymakers and industry stakeholders to promote a more sustainable Islamic banking sector.

Abstract

Post-conflict Aceh and Bangsamoro continue to face significant governance challenges marked by ineffective autonomy and the consolidation of religiously-grounded political authority. While special autonomy theoretically provides an inclusive framework for development, in practice, authority remains monopolized by elites who draw legitimacy from Islamic symbols. The rise of figures labeled as ‘abang-abang syar’i’ (male leaders who publicly represent Islam) demonstrates how public displays of piety are often intertwined with patronage, collusion and kinship-based power consolidation. In Aceh, widespread trust in religious scholars conceals an accommodative and hierarchical power structure, while in Bangsamoro, religious rhetoric is strategically deployed to distribute benefits narrowly within elite circles. This study adopts a comparative perspective and a theoretical framework integrating Islamic patrimonialism, moral politics, masculinity, and Islamic neopopulism. The findings suggest that religious symbolism primarily operates as aesthetic legitimation, while entrenched corruption and patronage networks continue to undermine inclusive, accountable, and socially-just governance.
