Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of technology, information, and communication (ICT) literacy in learning mathematics and identify the factors that influence ICT literacy. The research method used is a descriptive survey method. The results of the study show that : (1) ICT literacy has an important role in learning mathematics: making learning media, finding learning resources in making teaching materials, carrying out the learning process, and making learning administration, as well as assessment activities. (2) Factors that influence ICT literacy consist of: training effectiveness, visionary leadership, work-life balance, achievement motivation, facilities and infrastructure, initial capabilities, and organizational culture. The conclusions from this study: (1) ICT literacy is very important in learning mathematics. (2) The dominant factors influencing ICT literacy, namely: training effectiveness, visionary leadership, work-life balance, and achievement motivation.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of students’ learning styles and self-confidence on their conceptual understanding of relation representation in mathematics at SMP Negeri Satu Atap 01 Ciseeng. The preliminary data showed that 65% of students had not achieved mastery learning. A qualitative descriptive survey method was applied involving 48 eighth-grade students. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model with triangulation for data validation. The findings reveal that visual learning style is dominant (42%) and produces the highest average score (82). Most students’ self-confidence is at the moderate level (60%), while those with high self-confidence achieve better performance (85). The combination of visual learning style and high self-confidence results in the highest conceptual understanding score (86). This study confirms the relevance of differentiated instruction and Deep Learning models in mathematics education. The findings imply the need for adaptive teaching strategies that accommodate students’ diverse learning styles while fostering self-confidence.

Abstract

Teachers’ achievement motivation is a critical factor influencing educational quality and teacher performance. Although previous studies have examined leadership, teacher motivation, and work-life balance independently, limited research has explored the mechanism through which visionary leadership influences teachers’ achievement motivation, particularly within vocational education settings. This study investigates the association between visionary leadership and teachers’ achievement motivation, with work-life balance as a mediating variable among private vocational school teachers in Indonesia. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 127 mathematics teachers selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression and path analysis. The results revealed that visionary leadership was positively associated with teachers’ achievement motivation (β = 0.553, p < .001) and work-life balance (β = 0.496, p < .001). Work-life balance was also positively associated with achievement motivation (β = 0.618, p < .001). Furthermore, the findings indicated that work-life balance mediated the relationship between visionary leadership and teachers’ achievement motivation. These findings suggest that visionary leadership is associated not only with higher teacher motivation but also with more balanced professional and personal lives among teachers. The study contributes to educational management literature by integrating leadership and well-being perspectives into a unified framework for explaining teacher motivation and highlights the importance of supporting teachers’ work-life balance to foster achievement motivation in vocational education contexts.
