Abstract

Objective: This research explores the significance of Islamic family ethics as a foundational element in promoting social harmony in the modern era. The primary objective is to analyze how Islamic teachings address family-related challenges and foster moral values that strengthen societal cohesion. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework combines Islamic ethical teachings with sociological theories concerning family systems and social stability. Literature review: The literature review encompasses scholarly works in Islamic studies, sociology, and contemporary research on family dynamics, highlighting the relevance and timelessness of Islamic values in addressing emerging social issues. Methods: Utilizing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the study analyzes primary Islamic texts, academic research, institutional reports, and credible digital sources. Through thematic text analysis, the research identifies patterns and principles that illustrate how Islamic ethics provide practical solutions to modern familial challenges, such as individualism, generational disconnection, and moral decline. Results: The findings reveal that Islamic family ethics significantly contribute to social harmony by encouraging respect, mutual support, responsible parenting, and community awareness. These values create a stable family environment, which serves as the bedrock for a cohesive society. The research further demonstrates that integrating Islamic ethical teachings into family and community programs can help counteract the erosion of social bonds in an increasingly fragmented world. Implications: The study’s implications extend to policymakers, educators, and religious leaders who seek to reinforce ethical and familial foundations in society. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its contextual linkage of traditional Islamic values with contemporary societal issues, offering a faith-based, yet universally applicable, framework for strengthening family structures and enhancing social harmony in a globalized era.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to reconstruct the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) scheme from the perspective of Islamic law by integrating the principles of maqāṣid al-sharī'ah and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The main focus of the research is to offer an alternative BNPL scheme that is not only by sharia principles, but also supports social justice and economic sustainability. Theoretical framework: This research is based on the principles of maqāṣid al-sharī'ah (protection of property, intellect, and justice) associated with the SDGs, especially SDG 1, SDG 8, and SDG 12. Literature review:  The literature review covers classical and contemporary Islamic legal literature, murābaḥah contracts, and BNPL practices in Indonesian fintech. It was found that there is a lack of integration between sharia principles and sustainability aspects in the digital BNPL scheme. Methods: Using a normative qualitative approach through the study of Islamic legal literature and secondary data on BNPL practice, to formulate an alternative sharia model based on the murābaḥah bi al-taqsīṭ contract. Results: The study found that conventional BNPL schemes contain elements of riba, gharar, and contract ambiguity, which can be detrimental to consumers, especially vulnerable groups. As a solution, a BNPL model based on the murābaḥah contract is offered that meets sharia principles and supports the principles of social justice and economic sustainability. Implications: This research promotes the establishment of a fair Islamic digital financial system, protects consumers, and supports sustainable development goals. Novelty: The novelty lies in the proposed integrative framework between Islamic law and the SDGs in responding to the challenges of BNPL services in the fintech era.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to explore emerging trends and key themes in the Islamic Educational Leadership literature, with a focus on their relationship to human development and sustainability. The study also seeks to identify influential topics and emerging keywords, thereby filling the gap in data-driven integrated analysis in these areas. Theoretical framework: Combines Islamic Educational Leadership Theory, Organizational Change Theory, and Sustainable Development principles, with the support of transformational, distributed leadership theory, and Human Capital Theory to link educational practices, individual development, and socio-economic-environmental well-being. Literature review: Transformational and distributed leadership play a role in curriculum innovation, HR quality improvement, and sustainable practices. Comprehensive bibliometric studies that map keywords, authors, and clusters are still rarely conducted. Method: This study uses a quantitative approach through bibliometric analysis and network analysis of 596 academic documents obtained from the Scopus database (period 2020–2025). Bibliometric analysis is used to evaluate publication patterns, citation rates, and influential authors, while network analysis maps the relationships between keywords, author collaboration, and the formation of research clusters. Results: The results of the analysis show the existence of a collaborative and cross-disciplinary research environment, with three main thematic clusters: (1) curriculum design and innovation, (2) leadership and human development, and (3) sustainability in higher education. In addition, new keywords were found that represented emerging research trends. Implications: Provide strategic guidance for practitioners and policymakers in professional development, the application of sustainable practices, and future research directions. Novelty: A recent analysis (2020–2025) that integrates education leadership, human development, and sustainability uncovers new trends and linkages that have not been documented.
