Abstract

The moral crisis among students has become an increasingly worrying issue and has sparked controversy over the effectiveness of character education in schools. In this context, the application of Pancasila values is a strategic alternative (solution) to strengthen good character among students. This study aims to describe the application of Pancasila values in shaping good character among seventh-grade students at Al Ismailiyah Beringin Junior High School, Tambelangan, Sampang. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the values of Belief in God, Unity, and Social Justice are implemented through civic education, extracurricular activities, and religious routines such as the dhuha prayer, recitation of the Qur'an, and social activities of mutual cooperation. Teacher role modeling, a conducive school environment, and structured coaching programs are the main supporting factors, while the influence of the environment outside school is the main challenge. The consistent application of Pancasila values has been proven to foster discipline, responsibility, and tolerance among students. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating Pancasila values into character education (a national education trend) as an effort to revitalize the morals of the younger generation in order to face complex social changes.

Abstract

Contained within it does not fade with the passage of time. This research is an effort to preserve the folk story of Bhujuk Abdul Alam Prajjan with the aim of analyzing the meaning of the myths contained within it, as well as the community's views on these myths in relation to social and cultural values. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with Roland Barthes' semiotic theory to examine the denotative and connotative meanings in the story. Data is collected through observations, interviews with local communities, and documentation, then analyzed through stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The research findings indicate that the myths in the folk story of Bhujuk Abdul Alam not only contain symbolic and spiritual values but also reflect the belief system of the Prajjan community. The myth of marriage with a fairy princess, the symbol of three rice strands, the arrival of invisible guests, and a buffalo nursing a child are understood as symbols of blessings, purity, and the grace possessed by Bhujuk Abdul Alam. The community view places Bhujuk Abdul Alam as a religious figure and a sacred ancestor worthy of honor, as well as a guardian of the cultural and spiritual identity of the Madurese people.
