Abstract

This study aims to produce a product in the form of digital comic media assisted by Canva in learning Indonesian language materials that are shared or paid for fourth grade elementary school students. This research is a development research (Research and Development). This study uses a 4D development model which is an extension of Define, Design, Development and Dissemination. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires, test questions and documentation. The results of the validity of the material expert were getting a score/assessment of 96% from 10 statements and the results of the media expert validation were getting a score/assessment of 98% from 10 statements. This percentage is included in the "very feasible" criteria. The effectiveness of animated video media from the results of student responses got a score/assessment of 74% from 5 questions related to understanding the concept of mathematics on area material based on Batak Mandailing culture in grade IV of elementary school, this percentage is included in the "effective" criteria and the practicality of animated video media based on Batak Mandailing culture to improve students' abilities in the concept of mathematics on area material in grade IV of elementary school from the results of teacher responses got a score of 100% from 10 statements, this percentage is included in "very practical". The results of this study produced a product in the form of animated video media based on Batak Mandailing culture to improve students' abilities in the concept of mathematics on area material in grade IV of elementary school.
