Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in integrating Islamic values related to health and well-being into the free nutritious meal program in schools. Such integration is essential for fostering students’ spiritual and social awareness regarding the importance of maintaining health as a form of responsibility entrusted by Allah SWT. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving PAI teachers, students, and program administrators. The findings indicate that PAI teachers play a strategic role in imparting Islamic values such as gratitude, cleanliness, responsibility, and social care through both instructional activities and daily habituation. The integration of these values not only enhances students’ spiritual understanding but also shapes healthy living behaviors and strengthens social solidarity within the school environment.

Abstract

Arabic vocabulary (mufradat) learning in elementary schools still faces various challenges, particularly students’ low vocabulary mastery and learning motivation. This condition is also found among fifth-grade students at SD SABBIHISMA 04 Padang. This study aims to explore in depth the implementation of the Mustaqili Method in teaching vocabulary and to identify students’ responses, the obstacles encountered, and its impact on the learning process. This research employs a qualitative approach with an exploratory design. The subjects of the study include fifth-grade students and an Arabic language teacher. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively through qualitative procedures, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the Mustaqili Method enhances student engagement, facilitates vocabulary mastery, and creates a more active, interactive, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. However, several challenges remain, such as limited instructional time and differences in students’ abilities. This study concludes that the Mustaqili Method has significant potential to be further developed as an alternative strategy for teaching Arabic vocabulary in elementary schools to improve learning quality sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of extracurricular teachers in improving students’ Arabic proficiency at MAN 1 Padang. Arabic proficiency in this study includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as mastery of mufradat and qawaid. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of Arabic extracurricular teachers and students participating in the program. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that extracurricular teachers play important roles as facilitators, motivators, and mentors in creating an active and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Teachers also applied various strategies, such as conversation practice, Arabic language games, group discussions, and enrichment materials outside formal class hours. In addition, teachers provided individual guidance for students experiencing learning difficulties. The main obstacles included differences in students’ abilities and limited activity time. However, through effective management, extracurricular activities gradually improved students’ interest, self-confidence, and Arabic proficiency. These improvements were reflected in greater participation, stronger communication confidence, and better understanding of learning materials throughout the process.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concepts, characteristics, advantages, and relevance of implementing active learning, cooperative learning, and collaborative learning from the perspective of Islamic education. It focuses on analyzing the compatibility between group-based active learning approaches and Islamic values such as consultation (shura), mutual assistance, responsibility, and brotherhood. This research employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected from scientific journal articles, academic books, and normative Islamic sources, including the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical and contemporary scholars’ works. Data were analyzed using content analysis by examining and synthesizing key ideas from the sources. The findings indicate that cooperative and collaborative learning enhance student engagement, develop social skills, and shape character. These approaches are consistent with Islamic educational principles emphasizing togetherness, justice, and collective responsibility. Thus, group-based active learning is pedagogically, morally, and spiritually relevant in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent to which Arabic language training can improve students’ public speaking skills at MAN 1 Kota Padang. Public speaking is an essential competency that madrasah students need to master in response to increasingly complex and competitive challenges. The Arabic training program was systematically designed to develop students’ confidence, courage, articulation, and oral communication skills. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of training activities. The findings revealed that Arabic language training had a significant positive impact on students’ public speaking abilities, particularly in terms of self-confidence, speaking fluency, vocabulary mastery, and the ability to organize ideas systematically. The study also found that interactive and practice-based learning methods were more effective than conventional approaches. Therefore, the integration of Arabic language training with public speaking programs should continue to be strengthened in madrasah education.
