Abstract

In line with the increasing population in Indonesia, the need for protein is alsoincreasing. Protein can be obtained from broilers. Broilers are known as poultry with a fastharvest period but high fat content. This study aims to determine the effect of giving pandanleaf extract in drinking water on broiler abdominal fat. This research was conducted at theLaboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, located at Gang Markisa,Sesetan, Denpasar City, Bali. This research was carried out from the beginning of thepreparation of the cage in May 2024, starting maintenance in June 2024 and harvesting forsampling in July 2024. The experiment was carried out using a Completely RandomizedDesign with 4 treatments and 5 repetitions, namely P0 as a control (drinking water without theaddition of pandan leaf extract), P1 (drinking water with the addition of 3% pandan leafextract), P2 (drinking water with the addition of 6% pandan leaf extract) and P3 (drinking waterwith the addition of 9% pandan leaf extract). The variables observed in this study were pad fat,mesenteric fat, ventricle fat and abdominal fat as an accumulation of the three fats. This studyshowed that the provision of natural feed additives in the form of pandan leaf extract indrinking water had no significant effect (P>0.05) on broiler ventricle, mesentery, pad fat andabdomen. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the addition of pandan leafextract in percentages of 3%, 6% and 9% in broiler drinking water did not affect fat in theabdomen, such as pad fat, ventricle fat and mesenteric fat. ABSTRAK Sejalan dengan meningkatnya jumlah penduduk di Indonesia, kebutuhan akan proteinjuga meningkat. Pemenuhan protein bisa didapat dari broiler. Broiler dikenal dengan unggasdengan masa panen yang cepat namun kadar lemaknya tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun pandan wangi dalam air minum terhadap lemakabdomen broiler. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Fakultas Peternakan UniversitasUdayana yang beralamat di Gang Markisa, Sesetan, Kota Denpasar, Bali. Penelitian inidilaksanakan dari awal persiapan kendang pada bulan Mei 2024, mulai pemeliharaan padabulan Juni 2024 dan panen untuk pengambilan sampel di bulan Juli 2024. Percobaan dilakukandengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 pengulangan yaituP0 sebagai kontrol (air minum tanpa penambahan ekstrak daun pandan wangi), P1 (air minumdengan penambahan 3% ekstrak daun pandan wangi), P2 (air minum dengan penambahan 6%ekstrak daun pandan wangi) dan P3 (air minum dengan penambahan 9% ekstrak daun pandanwangi). Variabel yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah lemak bantalan, lemak mesenterium,lemak ventrikulus dan lemak abdomen sebagai akumulasi dari ketiga lemak tersebut. Penelitianini menunjukan bahwa pemberian feed additive alami berupa ekstrak daun pandan wangi padaair minum tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap lemak ventrikulus, mesentrium, bantalandan abdomen broiler. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak daunpandan wangi dalam persentase 3%, 6% dan 9% dalam air minum broiler tidak memberikanpengaruh terhadap lemak di bagian abdomen, seperti lemak bantalan, lemak ventrikulus, danlemak mesentrium.

Abstract

This study aims to review the effect of KPLA on the carcass cuts of male Bali ducksthat have been carried out for 8 weeks. The research design used was RAL which included 3treatments and 6 replications, each replication containing 5 ducks, until the number of maleBali ducks used was 90. The treatments used were, P0: ration added with 25% commercial concentrate plus 0% KPLA (control), P1: ration added with 12.5% commercial concentrate plus12.5 KPLA, P2: ration added with commercial concentrate plus 25% KPLA. The variablesobserved were Carcass weight, chest weight, back weight, upper and lower thigh weight, andwing weight. The results showed that the use of KPLA in the ration in the P2 treatment showedhigher results than P0 (P<0.05) in carcass fraction and chest weight. Meanwhile, the use ofKPLA in rations in treatments P1 and P2 did not show significant results (P> 0.05) whendistinguished by P0 on the weight of the back, upper thigh, lower thigh, and wings. Inconclusion, the use of 25% KPLA in rations can produce the best carcass weight and breastfracture weight. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan dalam meninjau pengaruh pemberian KPLA pada recahankarkas itik Bali Jantan yang telah dilaksanakan selama 8 minggu. Rancangan penelitian yangdimanfaatkan ialah RAL yang meliputi atas 3 perlakuan serta 6 ulangan, setiap ulangan berisi 5ekor itik, hingga itik bali jantan yang dimanfaatkan sejumlah 90 ekor. Perlakuan yangdigunakan yaitu, P0: ransum yang ditambah 25% konsentrat komersial ditambah 0 % KPLA(kontrol), P1: ransum ditambah 12,5 % konsentrat komersial ditambah 12,5 KPLA, P2: ransumditambah konsentrat komersial ditambah 25% KPLA. Variabel yang diamati ialah bobotkarkas, bobot dada, bobot punggung, bobot paha atas serta paha bawah, dan bobot sayap. Hasilpenelitian menunjukan kalau penggunaan KPLA dalam ransum pada perlakuan P2 menunjukanhasil yang lebih tinggi dari P0 (P< 0,05) pada recahan karkas serta bobot dada. Sementara itu,penggunaan KPLA pada ransum dalam perlakuan P1 serta P2 tidak menunjukkan hasil yangtidak signifikan > 0,05 jika dibedakan sama P0 pada bobot punggung, paha atas, paha bawah,dan sayap. Kesimpulan, penggunaan 25% KPLA pada ransum dapat menghasilkan berat karkasdan berat recahan dada yang terbaik.

Abstract

Broiler is a type of poultry resulting from the crossing of chicken nations that has a high level of productivity, especially in the level of productivity of meat weight gain. Broiler growth is relatively short, in less than 5 weeks broilers can produce an average weight of 1.5kg. This study aims to determine the effect of giving fermented moringa leaf extract through drinking water on broiler performance. This research was carried out in a cage located at the Sesetan Farm, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, and this research lasted from October to November 2024. The design used was a complete random design (RAL) with three treatments and each treatment was repeated six times, so there were 18 experimental units. The treatment is: EF0: without fermented moringa leaf extract EF1: 3% fermented moringa leaf extract EF2: 6% moringa leaf extract. The variables observed were initial body weight, ration consumption, drinking water consumption, final body weight, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio. The results showed that the administration of 6% fermented moringa leaf extract could reduce ration consumption and Feed Conversion ratio (FCR) but could not increase drinking water consumption, final body weight, and body weight gain compared to controls. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the administration of fermented moringa leaf extract as much as 6% can reduce ration consumption and Feed Conversion ratio (FCR) but cannot increase drinking water consumption, final body weight, and increase in broiler body weight. ABSTRAK Broiler merupakan jenis unggas hasil dari persilangan bangsa-bangsa ayam yangmemiliki tingkat produktivitas yang tinggi, terutama dalam tingkat produktivitas pertambahanbobot berat daging. Pertumbuhan broiler yang relatif singkat, dalam kurun waktu kurang dari 5minggu broiler dapat menghasilkan bobot rata-rata 1,5kg. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi melalui air minum terhadapperforma broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kandang yang berlokasi di Farm Sesetan FakultasPeternakan Universitas Udayana, dan penelitian ini berlangsung dari bulan Oktober sampaiNovember 2024. Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan tigaperlakuan dan masing- masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak enam kali, sehingga terdapat 18 unitpercobaan. Perlakuan tersebut yaitu: EF0: tanpa ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi, EF1: 3%ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi, dan EF2: 6% ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi. Variabel yangdiamati yaitu bobot badan awal, konsumsi ransum, konsumsi air minum, bobot badan akhir,pertambahan bobot badan, dan feed convertion ratio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwapemberian ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi 6% dapat menurunkan konsumsi ransum dan FeedConvertion ratio (FCR) tetapi belum bisa meningkatkan konsumsi air minum, bobot badan akhir,dan pertambahan bobot badan dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian inidapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi sebanyak 6% dapatmenurunkan konsumsi ransum dan Feed Convertion ratio (FCR) tetapi belum bisa meningkatkankonsumsi air minum, bobot badan akhir, dan pertambahan bobot badan broiler.

Abstract

Bali ducks are known for their rapid and efficient growth in converting feed into high-quality meat. However, their rapid growth is often accompanied by an increase in fat content,which can lead to a fishy flavor in the meat. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigatethe effect of replacing commercial concentrate with chicken by-product protein concentrate(KPLA) on the body fat composition of male Bali ducks over an 8-week period. A completelyrandomized design (CRD) was used, consisting of three treatments and six replicates, with eachreplicate comprising five male Bali ducks, totaling 90 ducks. The treatments included male Baliducks fed a ration and concentrate without KPLA replacement as the control (P0), those fed aration and a mixture of 12.5% concentrate and 12.5% KPLA (P1), and those fed 25% KPLA(P2). The results showed that replacing commercial concentrate with KPLA in the P1 and P2treatments significantly increased (P<0.05) the carcass weight and maintained the body fatcomposition of the male Bali ducks. In conclusion, replacing commercial concentrate with KPLAcan increase the carcass weight of ducks, and 25% KPLA is good to use as a substitute forcommercial concentrate feed for ducks. ABSTRAK Itik bali dikenal mampu tumbuh dengan cepat dan efisien dalam mengkonversi pakanmenjadi daging berkualitas tinggi. Pertumbuhan cepat pada itik sering kali diikuti denganpeningkatan kadar lemak, yang dapat menyebabkan bau amis pada daging itik. Oleh karena itu,studi ini dilakukan demi mencari tahu pengaruh penggantian konsentrat komersial dengankonsentrat protein limbah peternakan ayam (KPLA) terhadap komposisi lemak tubuh itik balijantan yang telah dilaksanakan selama 2 bulan. Rancangan penelitian yang diterapkan ialahRancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan, enam percobaan dengan setiap ulanganmenggunakan lima ekor itik. Perlakuan yang diberikan, yaitu itik bali jantan yang diberikanransum dan 25% konsentrat komersial tanpa KPLA sebagai kontrol (P0), itik bali jantan yangdiberikan campuran ransum dan 12,5% konsentrat dan 12,5% KPLA (P1), dan itik bali jantanyang diberikan ransum dan 25% KPLA (P2). Hasil studi ini memperlihatkan bahwa penggantiankonsentrat komersial dengan KPLA pada perlakuan P1 dan P2 menunjukkan peningkatan yangsignifikan (P<0,05) terhadap bobot potong dan mampu mempertahankan komposisi lemak tubuhitik bali jantan. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggantian konsentrat komersial dengan KPLAmampu meningkatkan bobot potong itik, dan 25% KPLA baik digunakan sebagai penggantipakan konsentrat komersial itik.
