Abstract

This study aims to analyze the inculcation of Islamic values in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) as an effort to foster healthy eating behavior in students at Bakalan Public Elementary School, based on J.B. Watson's behaviorism theory. The MBG program is a government policy aimed at improving student nutrition and concentration through the provision of free nutritious meals at schools. In addition to health aspects, the program also serves as a vehicle for character education by instilling Islamic values such as gratitude, togetherness, and responsibility. The study employed a qualitative approach, employing observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation with teachers, students, and the MBG program coordinator. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions using the Miles and Huberman model, along with source triangulation to ensure data validity. The results indicate that the inculcation of Islamic values in the MBG can foster healthy eating behavior in students through consistent positive stimuli, in accordance with behaviorism principles. The main challenges in program implementation are students' preference for fast food and the lack of Islamic table manners. With teacher guidance and government support, the MBG program has the potential to be an effective instrument for building Islamic character while improving the health of elementary school students.
