<![CDATA[Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in shaping students’ character, morals, and behavior in accordance with Islamic values. However, in practice, PAI learning still faces challenges, particularly the low level of internalization of spiritual values, resulting in behavioral changes that are often merely superficial. This study aims to examine the implementation of behaviorist theory in PAI learning in schools and to analyze its implications for behavioral change and students’ spiritual understanding from a Deep Learning perspective. This research employs a library research method with a qualitative approach, through the analysis of various relevant primary and secondary literature sources. The findings indicate that behaviorist theory is effective in forming positive habits through mechanisms of stimulus, response, and reinforcement such as rewards and punishments. Nevertheless, this approach has limitations in fostering deep spiritual awareness. Therefore, integrating behaviorism with a Deep Learning approach is essential to produce PAI learning that not only shapes consistent religious behavior but also encourages meaningful, reflective, and contextual understanding. The Deep Learning approach, through the principles of mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning, is able to strengthen the internalization of Islamic values, develop moderate character, and enhance students’ social responsibility within multicultural life.]]>
