Abstract

Immersive Virtual Reality (VR) has gained increasing attention in educational settings as a tool to enhance learning experiences. Its ability to create interactive and engaging environments has shown promise, particularly in science education. This study examines the impact of immersive VR on science comprehension and engagement among primary school students. The research explores whether VR can provide an effective platform for teaching scientific concepts and improving student participation in science learning. The study utilized a quasi-experimental design, where two groups of primary school students participated in either VR-based science lessons or traditional, textbook-based lessons. Data was collected through pre- and post-tests to measure comprehension, along with surveys to assess student engagement levels. The findings indicate that students who engaged with VR-based lessons showed a significant improvement in science comprehension compared to their counterparts in the traditional group. Additionally, VR participants reported higher levels of engagement and interest in science subjects, suggesting that immersive experiences can enhance students’ motivation and participation in learning. This study concludes that immersive VR has the potential to revolutionize science education by fostering deeper understanding and increasing student engagement, making it a valuable tool for the future of teaching and learning in primary schools.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus remains a major public health problem worldwide, particularly in developing countries, including Indonesia. Dietary fiber intake has been widely reported to play an important role in glycemic control among patients with diabetes mellitus. However, evidence at the primary healthcare level in Indonesia remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of dietary fiber intake on blood glucose levels among patients with diabetes mellitus at Jagir Primary Health Center, Surabaya, Indonesia. A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted involving adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dietary fiber intake was assessed using a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire, while blood glucose levels were obtained from medical records. Data were analyzed using correlation and multivariate regression tests. The results showed that patients with low dietary fiber intake tended to have significantly higher fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels compared to those with adequate fiber intake. These findings are consistent with previous studies reporting a negative association between fiber intake and blood glucose levels. In conclusion, adequate dietary fiber intake is associated with better glycemic control among patients with diabetes mellitus at the primary healthcare level. Strengthening nutrition education focusing on fiber-rich diets is strongly recommended.

Abstract

Inflation remains a persistent macroeconomic challenge that directly affects household welfare, particularly among low-income populations in urban areas. This study aims to analyze the impact of inflation on purchasing power among low-income households by synthesizing empirical evidence from cross-country studies. A qualitative systematic review approach was employed using recent peer-reviewed articles, reports, and repositories. The findings indicate that inflation significantly reduces real income, alters consumption patterns, and increases economic vulnerability. Households tend to prioritize essential goods while reducing expenditures on non-essential items, leading to declining living standards. The study also finds that inflation disproportionately affects low-income groups due to their limited financial resilience and higher expenditure share on necessities. These results highlight the importance of targeted policy interventions such as income support, price stabilization, and social protection programs. The study contributes to the literature by providing a comparative analysis of inflation impacts across different urban contexts.
