Learning media are an important component of effective teaching and learning activities, particularly in physical education where students need direct, varied, and safe movement experiences. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of learning media made from recycled materials, specifically used tires, in improving the quality of teaching and learning activities among fourth-grade students at MI Lantaburo, Cipondoh. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with an evaluative case-study design. Data were collected through classroom observation, semi-structured interviews with the teacher and students, and documentation of learning activities. Effectiveness was examined through indicators of student activeness, participation, movement coordination, cooperation, discipline, attractiveness of learning, and the practicality of the media. The used tires were cleaned, checked for safety, and arranged for zig-zag running, jumping, quick-step, balance, and relay activities. The findings indicate that the media created a more varied and enjoyable learning atmosphere, encouraged students to participate directly, facilitated the practice of locomotor skills and coordination, and supported more orderly class management. Students also demonstrated cooperation and greater awareness that discarded materials can be reused productively. The teacher considered the media economical, accessible, and adaptable to different physical education activities. The study concludes that used tires are an effective contextual learning medium for improving the quality of physical education teaching and learning activities in grade IV, although further studies should apply standardized movement tests and longer observation periods.
