Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has fundamentally transformed students’ learning environments, particularly in secondary education. While digital platforms offer extensive access to information, excessive exposure to digital stimuli often results in learning distractions that reduce concentration and depth of comprehension. This study aims to examine students’ learning concentration difficulties in the digital era using the perspective of Gestalt theory. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research focuses on a junior high school student who experienced a decline in academic understanding associated with high levels of digital distraction. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques. The findings reveal that digital distraction leads to fragmented information processing, preventing students from organizing learning materials into meaningful and coherent structures. From a Gestalt perspective, this condition inhibits insight learning, as students fail to perceive relationships among concepts as an integrated whole. The study underscores the importance of instructional strategies that promote holistic perception, such as visual organization, concept mapping, and attention management, to support effective learning in digital contexts. These findings confirm the continued relevance of Gestalt theory in explaining contemporary learning challenges and provide practical implications for educators in designing meaningful learning experiences in the digital era

Abstract

Faith and spirituality are increasingly recognized as crucial factors in supporting mental health. This study examines the role of faith in strengthening psychological resilience, regulating emotions, and providing social support, while also highlighting the ambivalent effects of religious struggles. A narrative review design is employed with a systematic search of PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar for articles published between 2019 and 2025. Fifteen peer-reviewed studies were analyzed qualitatively to identify thematic patterns. The findings reveal that faith provides meaning-making frameworks, enhances psychological flexibility, and fosters community support that reduces depression, anxiety, and stress. At the same time, religious struggles are associated with higher levels of distress, showing that faith has both protective and risk dimensions. The novelty of this work lies in synthesizing recent cross-cultural evidence, thereby expanding the psychology of religion beyond Western contexts. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of integrating culturally

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of cultural acculturation in the Bakar Tongkang tradition in Rokan Hilir Regency and its role in strengthening social cohesion within a multicultural society. The research employed a qualitative approach using direct observation of the ritual procession, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, community figures, and local residents, as well as documentation studies from archives, media, and academic literature. Research instruments included observation guidelines, interview guides, and visual documentation. Data analysis techniques consisted of data reduction, data display, and thematic conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the Bakar Tongkang tradition has undergone a harmonious process of cultural acculturation between Chinese cultural elements and local culture without eliminating its sacred values and original identity. This tradition functions not only as a religious ritual but also as a symbol of regional cultural identity, a medium for interethnic and interreligious social integration, and a driver of the local economy through tourism and small-scale enterprises. Therefore, Bakar Tongkang serves as a socio-cultural institution that reinforces tolerance, social solidarity, and cultural sustainability in a multicultural community
