Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the implementation of gross motor development in early childhood through traditional games at TK Azizah. Traditional games such as engklek are used as a learning medium to develop gross motor skills in children aged 5–6 years. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that planning is carried out collaboratively by teachers, principals, and the curriculum team. The implementation involves stages such as introduction of the game, giving instructions and examples, playing activity, and evaluation. The obstacles faced include children's low initial interest due to the influence of gadgets, limited space, short activity time, and lack of parental involvement. However, the results show improvement in children's gross motor skills such as balance, coordination, muscle strength, and self-confidence. The engklek game also proves effective in instilling cultural and social values. Therefore, the application of traditional games in early childhood education needs to be continuously supported and developed. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pengembangan motorik kasar pada anak usia dini melalui permainan tradisional di TK Azizah. Permainan tradisional seperti engklek digunakan sebagai sarana pembelajaran untuk mengembangkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak usia 5–6 tahun. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan dilakukan secara kolaboratif antara guru, kepala sekolah, dan tim kurikulum. Pelaksanaan kegiatan melibatkan tahapan pengenalan permainan, pemberian instruksi, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hambatan yang ditemui meliputi rendahnya minat awal anak karena pengaruh gadget, keterbatasan ruang, waktu, serta kurangnya keterlibatan orang tua. Namun, hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan motorik kasar anak, seperti keseimbangan, koordinasi, kekuatan otot, dan kepercayaan diri. Permainan engklek juga terbukti efektif dalam menanamkan nilai budaya dan sosial. Oleh karena itu, penerapan permainan tradisional dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini perlu terus didukung dan dikembangkan.
