Abstract

Pesantren serve as crucial platforms for fostering economic self-reliance through integrated programs that combine religious education with entrepreneurial training. This literature study aims to synthesize strategies for entrepreneurial empowerment among santri and analyze their role in achieving economic independence within the pesantren ecosystem. The research employs a systematic literature review methodology, utilizing secondary data sources. Data were collected using the Publish or Perish tool with the keyword "Santri Empowerment" on Google Scholar, limiting the search to 200 results. From this pool, eight highly cited articles were identified, with six selected for in-depth analysis based on relevance and impact. The findings reveal that key supporting factors for successful empowerment programs include: the proactive role of pesantren leaders in motivating entrepreneurial spirit, government support through targeted training initiatives, and alumni networks that assist in product marketing and business expansion. Furthermore, the advancement of digital technology acts as a significant catalyst, enabling santri to leverage e-commerce platforms to reach broader markets and enhance their commercial viability. This study concludes that a multi-stakeholder strategy encompassing institutional, governmental, and technological support is essential for effective entrepreneurial empowerment and sustainable economic self-reliance in pesantren.
