Abstract

Abstract The appropriate selection of runes in Magic Chess Mobile Legends has a significant impact on hero performance; however, many players still struggle to make accurate choices. To address this issue, a decision support system was developed to assist players in selecting the most suitable rune based on the hero's role. The system was built using the Weighted Product method combined with a rule-based approach. The Weighted Product method is utilized to calculate the preference value of each rune alternative based on the weighted key attributes such as Attack Speed, Physical Attack, Magic Power, HP/Shield, and Mana. Meanwhile, the rule-based approach is applied to filter out runes that are not relevant to the specific needs of each hero role. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to the Magic Chess player community in Indonesia, as well as through gameplay observation. The system demonstrated effectiveness in generating rune rankings according to hero roles. System testing also showed that the recommendations provided were relevant and acceptable, successfully accelerating the rune selection process and improving the quality of players' strategic decision-making
