Abstract

This study aims to explore students' perceptions of Augmented Reality (AR)-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in ninth grade at SMPN 1 Montong. The use of AR in learning is seen as a 21st-century educational innovation capable of improving conceptual understanding, motivation, and active student engagement. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive analytical methods through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The results showed that the majority of students had positive perceptions of AR use because the technology provides concrete and interactive visualizations, facilitating the understanding of abstract material. Learning becomes more engaging, collaborative, and encourages active student participation. Factors influencing student perceptions include the ease of use of the application, the role of teachers in mentoring, the quality of the devices, and the readiness of the learning environment. Obstacles identified were related to technical difficulties for a small number of students. Overall, AR is considered to have significant potential in improving the effectiveness of PAI learning and can be a relevant alternative learning medium in the digital age.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the concept, implementation and impact of Society Action Research (SAR) in community-based education as an effort to strengthen social values. The method used is a literature study by analyzing various scientific sources such as journals, books, research reports and documents related to community empowerment and participatory education. The research results show that SAR is a participatory research approach that integrates research processes, learning and social action through collaboration between researchers and the community. SAR implementation involves cyclical stages starting from problem identification, planning, data collection and analysis, action, to reflection to produce sustainable social transformation. In the context of community-based education, SAR encourages the active role of teachers as facilitators, students as agents of change, communities as social resources, and social institutions as supporting partners. The application of SAR has proven effective in strengthening social values such as mutual cooperation, solidarity, inclusiveness, independence and critical awareness of society. Thus, SAR makes an important contribution in building communities that are empowered, adaptive, and able to face social challenges through collaborative and transformative education.
