Abstract

Penguasaan kosakata (vocabulary) merupakan dasar penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di sekolah dasar, namun masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami dan mengingat kosakata baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan media pembelajaran flash card dalam meningkatkan penguasaan vocabulary siswa sekolah dasar serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis ex post facto yang dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 07 Cakranegara dengan subjek siswa kelas V. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi pembelajaran, wawancara dengan guru Bahasa Inggris, dan dokumentasi. Tahapan penelitian meliputi analisis desain media, pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan flash card, serta evaluasi hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan flash card mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar, pemahaman makna kata, serta kemampuan pelafalan siswa. Meskipun terdapat kendala seperti keterbatasan media dan potensi kejenuhan, hal tersebut dapat diatasi melalui variasi metode pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, media flash card dinilai efektif dan layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan vocabulary siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The understanding of ethics and morality in education is an inseparable element in the application of knowledge. On the other hand, the philosophy of science serves as a discipline that fosters essential life values such as ethics and morality, examining the nature and purpose of knowledge as well as its practical applications. The aim of this article is to analyze how the value of knowledge utility can contribute to character development among students in educational settings. This study employs a qualitative research method with a literature review design. The findings of this study indicate that the integration of ethics, morality, and the utilitarian value of knowledge, along with their implementation in character education and a holistic approach, constitutes a fundamental foundation in shaping well-rounded, knowledgeable, and dignified individuals. Therefore, the synergy between ethics, morality, and knowledge stands as a key pillar in achieving transformative and sustainable education.
