Abstract

Bullying is a serious problem still found in elementary schools and has the potential to hinder the psychological, social, and academic development of students. Students' low understanding of the forms, impacts, and consequences of bullying is a factor that drives the importance of early prevention efforts through an educational approach. This Community Service activity aims to increase students' understanding and awareness of bullying behavior as a preventive measure in creating a safe and conducive school environment. The method of implementation of the activity is carried out through preventive education which includes delivering material on the concept and types of bullying, interactive discussions with students, and the use of educational media adapted to the characteristics of elementary school students. The activity was carried out at Muhammadiyah Merangin Elementary School with the main target of students. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of bullying, the growth of empathy, and awareness to reject and prevent bullying behavior in daily interactions in the school environment. Students also showed a positive response and active participation during the educational process. Based on these results, it can be concluded that preventive anti-bullying education significantly contributes to building student awareness and supporting the creation of a safe, comfortable, and bullying-free school environment.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes student-centered learning, instructional flexibility, and the development of character and competencies. The curriculum provides opportunities for Guidance and Counseling (GC) services to become more adaptive, holistic, and responsive to students’ developmental needs. This study examines the implementation of GC services at Junior high school within the Merdeka Curriculum framework. The findings show that GC services have become an integral part of supporting students’ personal, social, academic, and career development. Implementation involves adjustments in service strategies, collaboration among GC counselors, subject teachers, and homeroom teachers, as well as the use of technology for needs assessment, individual planning, and responsive services. The curriculum has been implemented gradually, supported by school management readiness and teachers’ willingness to adapt. Its impact is reflected in increased student participation, more contextual learning experiences, and the shifting role of teachers toward facilitators. However, challenges remain, including uneven teacher understanding of instructional materials, limited collaboration within learning communities, and suboptimal use of innovative learning media for differentiated instruction. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening systematic training, providing continuous mentoring, and optimizing the use of the Merdeka Mengajar digital platform.

Abstract

Creativity is one of the essential competencies for students in facing the challenges of the 21st century, because this ability enables individuals to think critically, innovatively, and produce new solutions that are relevant and useful. At MAN 1 Sarolangun, students' creative potential has not been fully explored due to the dominance of conventional learning methods that are more theoretical, so that students' creative ideas are not optimally channeled. Structured socialization activities are believed to be an effective strategy to foster understanding, motivate, and develop students' creativity systematically. This study aims to design and implement creative socialization activities through a series of structured activities that include creativity workshops, group discussions, creative mini projects, idea competitions, and reflection and evaluation of activity results. The method used is community service with instruments in the form of creativity observations before and after the activity, documentation, and participatory evaluation. The activity was carried out on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, involving students of grades X–XII of MAN 1 Sarolangun. The results of the implementation of the activity were an increase in student creativity scores, the emergence of innovative ideas that can be applied in school assignments and activities, and the formation of a participatory and innovative culture. These findings are expected to be the basis for developing creative learning strategies at MAN 1 Sarolangun, as well as being a model that can be adapted by other schools to foster student creativity in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum provides educators with flexibility in designing learning that focuses on developing students' competencies and strengthening their character. However, its implementation in various educational units, including MTs Negeri 1 Merangin, still faces challenges, particularly in increasing teacher capacity to implement learning that fosters students' soft skills. This Community Service activity aims to improve teachers' pedagogical and professional competencies through the implementation of project-based learning in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) with stages of training, mentoring, and evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, then analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The activity was packaged in an extracurricular performance involving OSIM, ROHIS, UKS, PMR, PIK-R, and Pramuka. The results showed an increase in teacher understanding, a collaborative culture, and strengthening of students' character and soft skills.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed educational systems and demands a high level of school readiness in terms of technology, organizational culture, and human resources. However, many schools remain inadequately prepared due to school leadership that has not fully adapted to digital transformation. This study aims to analyze how principals’ digital leadership influences school readiness in facing the AI era. Employing a qualitative approach, this research uses a systematic library research method by reviewing relevant scientific publications published between 2021 and 2026. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns, key concepts, and dominant findings related to digital leadership and school readiness. The findings reveal that principals’ digital leadership plays a significant role in enhancing school readiness through three interconnected dimensions: the formulation of a strategic digital vision and effective management of digital infrastructure, the development of a supportive digital culture within the school environment, and the facilitation of continuous teacher professional development in response to AI-driven educational demands. These dimensions collectively contribute to the creation of an adaptive and sustainable school ecosystem. The study implies that principals must function as change agents who not only provide technological resources but also strategically strengthen institutional systems, organizational culture, and human resource capacities to ensure the effective and responsible implementation of AI in schools.
