Abstract

Housing development project is a construction activity characterized by repetitive construction activities, as the models and sizes of the houses built are generally similar and constructed repeatedly within a limited area. The conventional scheduling method, the Critical Path Method (CPM), is frequently applied in construction projects, however, CPM is less effective for repetitive construction as in housing development project because it does not account for the number of work units waiting to be processed (queuing). This study aims to analyze the application of the queuing system/queueing method in the planning and control of housing construction project schedules in Palu City, Indonesia. The research adopts a quantitative approach with descriptive and predictive analyses, utilizing field observations, interviews, and document analysis. Housing construction activity data are analyzed using the CPM and subsequently compared with a queuing system model through computer simulation. The results indicate that the queuing system method represents workflow more realistically than CPM, particularly in accounting for waiting times and production capacity at each construction stage. This approach is expected to enhance time and resource efficiency in repetitive housing construction projects and to contribute to the development of construction management based on production system principles.

Abstract

Abstrak Sikap tidak disiplinnya pekerja terhadap sistem keselamatan konstruksi pada pekerjaan proyek gedung bertingkat menyebabkan kecelakaan kerja pada proyek kontruksi, dikarenakan tindakan tidak aman yang dilakukan oleh pekerja kontruksi bangunan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kedisiplinan pekerja terhadap sistem keselamatan konstruksi pada pekerjaan proyek gedung bertingkat di Kota Palu. Sampel pada penelitian ini terdiri dari Kontraktor dan Konsultan. Data yang diperoleh dilakukan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas, kemudian dianalisis dengan menghitung rata-rata (mean) dan korelasi product moment yang dijelaskan melalui teknik analisis statistik deskriptif. Faktor yang mempengarui kedisiplinan pekerja terhadap sistem keselamatan konstruksi pada proyek konstruksi gedung bertingkat di Kota Palu. Secara simultan pembawaan, kesadaran, motivasi dan pola pikir memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap variabel terikat pada sistem keselamatan konstruksi proyek gedung bertingkat Kata kunci: pekerja, sistem, keselamatan, bangunan, konstruksi   Abstract The undisciplined attitude of workers towards the construction safety system in multi-storey building projects causes work accidents in construction projects, due to unsafe actions carried out by building construction workers. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that influence workers' discipline towards construction safety systems on multi-storey building projects in Palu City. The sample in this research consisted of contractors and consultants. The data obtained were subjected to validity and reliability tests, then analyzed by calculating the average (mean) and correlation product moment which is explained through descriptive statistical analysis techniques. Factors that influence worker discipline regarding the construction safety system in multi-storey building construction projects in Palu City.
