Abstract

This community service program aims to empower the Mitra Berkah Anjani Sejahtera Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Kalibening, East Lampung, by developing an organic melon–based agroedutourism model as a learning source for healthy food literacy. The approach employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR), consisting of five stages: socialization, training and mentoring on organic cultivation and technology, product diversification, digital marketing, and evaluation. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and pre–post training surveys. The results indicate an increased capacity of the KWT members in organic farming practices, the use of IoT technology (Venturi Injector), and post-harvest processing. The program successfully established the “Agromelka” agroedutourism model, integrating organic farming, product processing (such as ice cream, nuggets, and juice), and both online and offline marketing. This model serves as a real-life learning source for communities and students about sustainable agriculture and healthy food. Conclusion: Kalibening Agroedutourism has significant potential as a contextual learning resource for healthy food literacy. The success of this model is supported by community empowerment, technological integration, and a participatory educational approach, making it a replicable model for development in other regions.

Abstract

Technological advances encourage learning media innovations, one of which is digital comics. This study aims to develop digital comics with the theme of genetic engineering integrated with Islamic values using the ADDIE model (analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The results of the needs analysis showed that 90% of students had difficulty understanding the concept of genetic engineering, while 87% were interested in using digital comics as learning media. The developed digital comics were validated by three experts, namely material, media, and Islamic values experts, with the percentage of feasibility of 85%, 98%, and 92%, respectively, all of which were included in the category of “very feasible.” The results of the trial conducted with one teacher obtained an average percentage of 98%, while the trial with 30 students obtained an average percentage of 88%, both in the “very good” category.  These findings indicate that digital comics are feasible to use as biology learning media in high school with interactive audio-visual advantages. Further research is recommended to focus on measuring the achievement of learning objective criteria to determine the impact of using this digital comic on improving overall student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Shrimp pond sediment is a biosolid waste that can degrade water quality but contains organic matter and nutrients that can be reused as organic fertilizer. Liquid pineapple waste (LCN) harbors indigenous bacteria that can serve as composting starters. This study evaluated the effectiveness of LCN-derived consortia in improving the quality of shrimp pond sediment–based organic fertilizer. A completely randomized design with six treatments (control, P1–P5) and five replications was used. The consortia were aerobically fermented for 30 days with sediment, leaf litter, rice husk charcoal, and LCN. Total N, P₂O₅, K₂O, organic C, C/N ratio, pH, and moisture content were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's test (α = 0.05). The consortia significantly affected (p < 0.05) most parameters, except moisture content. Treatment P5 (15 isolates) produced the highest total N (3.44%), K₂O 2.70%, C/N ratio 9.47, pH 6.2, and organic C around 32–33%, whereas P3 (9 isolates) showed the highest P₂O₅ (2.39%); these values generally met or approached the Indonesian standard for organic fertilizer (Permentan No. 261/2019). LCN-based consortia thus have potential as local starters to improve shrimp pond sediment–based organic fertilizer, although further studies on salinity, heavy metals, and field performance are needed.
