Abstract

The phenomenon of fashionable clothing is part of people's lives today, including female students in Kakor Village. The students appeared wearing hotpants, tight miniskirts above the knee, negligee/sleeveless dresses, and transparent clothing. This reaped a lot of impressions from the local community. The purpose of this research is to determine the impression of the people of Kakor Village on female students' clothing styles, and the factors that influence the public's impression of female students. The theory used in this research is social judgment theory. The impression itself cannot be separated from the observer's basic knowledge about something. As social assessment theory explains, when someone analyzes a message, they have a perception as a reference point, so the message will be seen from two sides, namely acceptance (assimilation effect) and rejection (contrast effect). This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach, with data collection using observation, interviews and documentation techniques. The technique for determining informants is through purposive sampling. There were 12 informants in this study, with 9 key informants (community and community leaders) and 3 supporting informants (students). The results of the research show that the public's impression of female students' clothing styles is that they do not understand traditional values, are not good children, do not understand religious teachings, are disappointed, and show contemporary civilization. The impression conveyed is predominantly negative (rejecting). Several factors influence society's female students' clothing styles, namely the map of society's thoughts about women, culture and religion. The advice that the author recommends for society is that a perspective should not corner one party and judge someone not only by what they see. For female students, they should be critical in consuming popular products so that they are in harmony with up-to-date attitudes and the embodiment of local values.

Abstract

Social conflict is a phenomenon that often occurs in society. However, appropriate and effective management of social conflict is very important for the survival of a harmonious and peaceful society. In the context of archipelago, local community wisdom can be used as a tool to manage social conflict appropriately and effectively. This article discusses the role of public administration and sociological studies in managing social conflict by utilizing the local wisdom of the people in archipelago. Public administration is responsible for determining and implementing public policies, including policies for managing social conflict. Sociological studies provide an understanding of the social dynamics of society and the factors that trigger social conflict. According to Karl Marx, social conflict cannot be avoided, but with proper management, social conflict can be turned into an opportunity to strengthen social relations and improve the welfare of society.

Abstract

This paper is motivated by the existence of female students who undergo dual roles as students and young mothers. Students who are married and have children must be able to play the role of a wise mother and students who are able to carry out their lecture duties. To be able to carry out this dual role, women need support to be able to minimize inhibiting factors in carrying out the dual role of active students who become young mothers. According to Nature's theory, the distinction between men and women is nature, so it must be accepted. These biological differences provide indications and implications that between the two sexes have different roles and tasks. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, which looks at the uniqueness of human or social symptoms. Qualitative research uses the natural environment as a source of data. The results of this study based on the data obtained show that there are several forms of family support given to female students who undergo dual roles as easy mothers, namely in the form of (1). Providing motivation, (2). Acceptance of children, (3). Supporting financially, (4). Providing facilities. There are also inhibiting factors faced by students who act as young mothers in carrying out their roles, namely (1). restrictions on rights, (2). differences in nature, (3). economic conditions, (4). pressure on self. Conclusions and suggestions from research on women living dual roles based on research cases, namely starting a family at an easy age and not finishing with education, the necessity of starting a family, demands that make it a must. Thus, to undergo a dual role is not easy, it requires maturity in good self-control so that the role can be carried out properly, so that women who live it must be proficient in managing time and finances well so that the family that has been formed is not neglected with other tasks, not only that women who undergo dual roles must be mentally, physically ready for the role they play.

Abstract

Tradition is a habit that is passed down from generation to generation, including various cultural values which include customs, belief systems, and so on. In this case the tradition of cutting the finger in the Dani tribe is a tradition that is quite extreme, but it still survives to this day and makes me interested to find out what meaning is contained in this tradition. The problem in this research is how is the tradition of cutting fingers in the Dani tribe and what is the meaning of cutting fingers that makes this tradition still maintained? The purpose of this study is to find out how the tradition of cutting fingers in the Dani tribe and what is the meaning of cutting fingers in the Dani tribe that makes this tradition still being maintained. This study uses the theory of symbolic interactionism. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, documentation. The informants in this study totaled 11 people consisting of 1 tribal chief, 1 village head, 2 traditional elders and 7 community leaders, who had an important role or who carried out the Finger Cutting Tradition. The results of this study indicate that the finger-cutting tradition is a quite extreme tradition in which this tradition is carried out by cutting off parts of the human body (fingers to hands) to make a symbol. Cutting your own finger is done directly without a good medical examination to ensure the person's health before carrying out the finger cutting tradition. What they did after hearing the sad news was to immediately tie the finger or hand that was going to be cut off using a rope until the hand or finger was no longer felt, then they would immediately cut it off with a sharp tool such as a knife or machete which they thought was sharp and could be used for cut. Even after cutting their fingers or hands, they immediately cover the wound with soft soil and wrap it in leaves and then tie it using the used cloth they have. Even after cutting their finger they did not carry out treatment through a medical team or something like that, they only used soft soil, leaves and makeshift cloth until the wound healed. They also cut their fingers without using special tools and not in special places. The Dani people are quite fanatical in that they believe that by simply cutting their finger they can avoid the calamity and bad luck that befalls them in the form of family grief and successive illnesses in the family. It is proven that the finger-cutting tradition has several meanings in it, including social meaning or a symbol of affection for their loved ones such as from husband to wife, parents to children or vice versa, religious meaning or belief in something, cultural and moral meaning. or a custom that has been passed down from generation to generation to the present day. They think that if they don't do it, they will no longer be respected by family members who have carried out the tradition. However, this meaning is still not recognized and understood by the current generation, so the researchers suggest that the community, the government's traditional elders continue to preserve this finger-cutting tradition properly so that it can be passed on to future generations and all Dani people, especially in the village of Sanoba. in order to maintain and maintain this tradition.
