Abstract

Women Farmers Group (KWT) has a strategic role in women's economic empowerment and agricultural-based product development. However, KWT Puspa Gemari in Bantul, Yogyakarta, still faces obstacles in calculating production costs, unattractive packaging design, and limited marketing. This community service initiative aims to enhance the sustainability of herbal medicine businesses through training on production cost analysis, packaging design, and digital marketing. Methods include observation, training, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and mentoring. Results show improved member understanding of product costing (from 5 to 12 members), upgraded packaging (from plastic bottles to glass bottles with professional labels), and expanded marketing via digital platform with a Purchasing Order (PO) system. Significant impacts include production efficiency, product competitiveness, and market expansion. These activities demonstrate that an integrated approach to production management and digital marketing can strengthen the sustainability of women-led micro-businesses. Future recommendations include continuous mentoring, product diversification, and digital technology optimization to enhance KWT's market position.

Abstract

This community service program aims to transform the "Jawara" Youth Organization (Karang Tarun) in Ngemplak Village into an independent economic entity by establishing a permanent business unit "Jawara Coffee Space" focused on the downstream processing of a key local commodity. Previously, local coffee beans were typically sold directly to middlemen, yielding minimal economic value for local youth. To address this issue, the program offers a comprehensive solution comprising three main aspects. First, the development of physical infrastructure in the form of a representative, permanent coffee outlet to serve as the hub for business activities. Second, human resource capacity building through professional barista training to hone in-depth technical skills. Third, training in operational management, digital marketing, and commercial financial governance to strengthen members' business soft skills. Tangible outcomes of this strategic program include the establishment of a permanent coffee outlet fully equipped with necessary machinery, the completion of intensive training for 15 to 20 youth organization members, and the implementation of modern marketing and standardized financial reporting systems. Through this sustainable initiative, the program aims to foster a dynamic young entrepreneurship ecosystem, enhance the value-added of local coffee products, and boost the community's socio-economic well-being.
