Abstract

Tropical cyclones are extreme weather phenomena that can significantly influence the interaction between the atmosphere and oceans. Tropical Cyclone Man-Yi, which formed on November 15, 2024, passed through the Philippine Sea. This study aims to analyze the impact of Tropical Cyclone Man-Yi on oceanographic conditions, including sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a concentration, and wave height in the Philippine Sea. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing spatial and temporal analyses, as well as mean calculations to determine anomaly values. The data used include daily measurements from the period before, during, and after the occurrence of Tropical Cyclone Man-Yi, along with 15 years of monthly data. These datasets consist of reanalysis data and satellite data from Copernicus. The results indicate that Tropical Cyclone Man-Yi caused a decrease in sea surface temperature, an increase in chlorophyll-a concentration, and an increase in wave height in the Philippine Sea. Temporally, sea surface temperature decreased by up to 0.4°C, chlorophyll-a concentration increased by up to 0.018 mg/m³, and wave height increased by up to 2.5 meters. Based on spatial, temporal, and anomaly value analyses, Tropical Cyclone Man-Yi had a significant impact on wave height changes. Keywords: tropical cyclone, sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a, wave height   ABSTRAK Siklon tropis merupakan fenomena cuaca ekstrim yang dapat mempengaruhi interaksi antara atmosfer dan lautan. Siklon tropis Man-Yi terbentuk pada tanggal 15 November 2024 dan melewati Laut Filipina. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak siklon tropis Man-Yi terhadap kondisi oseanografi seperti suhu permukaan laut, klorofil-a, dan tinggi gelombang di Laut Filipina. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis spasial, temporal, dan perhitungan rata-rata untuk menghitung nilai anomalinya. Data yang digunakan meliputi data harian periode sebelum, saat, setelah kejadian siklon tropis Man-Yi, dan data bulanan  selama 15 tahun. Data tersebut merupakan data reanalisis dan data satelit dari Copernicus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siklon tropis Man-Yi memberikan dampak penurunan suhu permukaan laut, peningkatan konsentrasi klorofil-a dan peningkatan tinggi gelombang di Laut Filipina. Secara temporal, suhu permukaan laut menurun hingga 0.4 °C, konsentrasi klorofil-a meningkat hingga 0.018 mg/m³, dan tinggi gelombang meningkat hingga 2.5 m. Berdasarkan hasil analisis spasial, temporal, dan nilai anomalinya, siklon tropis Man-Yi memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap perubahan tinggi gelombang.
