Abstract

PT XYZ merupakan perusahaan agregator logistik dan gudang yang khusus pada layanan pengiriman barang dan sewa gudang, telah memiliki lebih dari 300 gudang yang tersebar di 35 kota di Indonesia. Salah satu mitranya yaitu Klien X, merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang peralatan rumah tangga, furnitur, dan barang elektronik. Klien X mengandalkan layanan PT XYZ untuk mengelola operasional gudangnya secara efisien. Pada penempatan tata leta gudang di PT XYZ dinilai kurang efektif karena masih menggunakan randomize storage. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkategorikan kelas SKU serta zona lokasi pada tata letak gudang PT XYZ melalui analisis ABC. Klasifikasi didasarkan pada frekuensi perpindahan barang inbound (palet masuk) maupun outbound (palet keluar), serta rata-rata permintaan barang. Data untuk analisis diekstraksi dari 3 bulan terakhir, menggunakan Simple Moving Average. Rangkaian produk Klien X yang beragam terbagi dalam tiga kategori: barang jadi, perakitan, dan elektronik, yang masing-masing menggunakan metode penyimpanan khusus. Persediaan terdiri dari 22 SKU, dengan 8 di antaranya termasuk dalam kategori barang yang bergerak cepat, 6 di antaranya dikategori barang yang bergerak sedang, dan 8 lainnya dikategorikan sebagai barang yang bergerak lambat. Di antara 22 SKU, kode barang 1692 muncul sebagai yang paling dinamis, menyaksikan pergerakan signifikan sebanyak 12 palet dalam 3 bulan terakhir. Penelitian ini mempelajari cara mengoptimalkan tata letak gudang Klien X, meningkatkan efisiensi untuk kesuksesan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

PT XYZ a prominent logistics aggregator and warehouse company specializing in freight forwarding and warehouse rental services, has established a robust presence with over 300 warehouses spanning 35 cities in Indonesia. Among its esteemed partners is Client X, a company specializing in household appliances, furniture, and electronic goods. Client X relies on PT XYZ's services to efficiently manage its warehouse operations. This research aims to scrutinize the efficacy of Client X's warehouse layout through an ABC analysis. The classification is based on the frequency of goods movement, both inbound (pallet in) and outbound (pallet out), along with the average demand for goods. Data for the analysis is extracted from the past 3 months, employing a simple moving average. Client X's diverse product range falls into three categories: finished goods, assembling, and electronics, each utilizing dedicated storage methods. The inventory comprises 22 SKUs, with 8 falling under fast-moving goods, 6 under medium-moving goods, and 8 categorized as slow-moving. Among the 22 SKUs, item code 1692 emerges as the most dynamic, witnessing a significant movement of 12 pallets in the last 3 months. This research delves into optimizing Client X's warehouse layout, enhancing efficiency, and streamlining operations for sustained success.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company engaged in retail with more than 19 thousand stores, a number that continues to grow every month. One of the problems faced is the lack of efficiency in the process of distributing goods from distribution centers to stores. This inefficiency occurs due to new stores being added to the delivery route without optimal planning, resulting in wasted mileage and increased fuel costs. A combination of Saving Matrix and Nearest Neighbor methods is used to determine a more optimal distribution route. The Saving Matrix method helps combine routes efficiently by considering vehicle capacity, while Nearest Neighbor helps arrange the order of deliveries based on the shortest distance within the route group. This research succeeded in producing more efficient distribution routes. The number of distribution routes was successfully reduced from the initial total distance of 112.8 km to 90.6 km. In addition, there are savings in distribution costs, from Rp 6,808,200 to Rp 5,883,900. By applying the Saving Matrix and Nearest Neighbor methods, PT XYZ was able to save distance by 19.4% and reduce total shipping costs by 13.5%.
