Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study is to find out the influence of project-based learning models on the adaptive mathematical reasoning ability of students of grade VII at SMPN 2 Lenek. The method used in this research is experimental research. The design of this study is based on Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The samples used in this study were two classes where class VII A as experimental class and class VII B as control class, then both classes were given different treatment i.e. in experimental classes were treated with a project-based learning model whereas in control class were given conventional learning models, after given further treatment were given posttests to find out the final ability of students. The test results of the hypothesis obtained thitung = 4,741; ttabel = 1,045 or (thitung 4, 741 > ttabel 1, 045). Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of project-based learning models on the ability of mathematical reasoning students in SMPN 2 Lenek school year 2023/2024.

Abstract

Abstrak: Belum adanya kajian yang secara sistematis menelaah pengembangan buku ajar dan bahan ajar berlandaskan teori belajar menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan informasi yang perlu dikaji lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) untuk menganalisis berbagai studi terdahulu yang relevan dengan pengembangan buku ajar dan bahan ajar berbasis teori belajar. Kajian pendahuluan yang dilakukan secara sistematis memungkinkan peneliti mengidentifikasi kekosongan penelitian, merumuskan arah pengembangan, serta membangun landasan konseptual yang kuat bagi penelitian lanjutan. SLR digunakan sebagai metode analisis literatur untuk menghimpun dan menelaah bukti empiris yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi yang telah ditentukan. Proses pencarian, penyaringan, dan seleksi artikel mengikuti panduan Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan buku ajar dan bahan ajar berlandaskan teori belajar telah menghasilkan beragam produk pembelajaran yang mampu menyelaraskan prinsip-prinsip teori belajar dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran. Produk-produk tersebut memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap variasi metode dan pendekatan pembelajaran. Temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan, baik dalam bidang matematika, IPA, maupun Bahasa Arab, secara konsisten memenuhi standar kevalidan dan kepraktisan yang tinggi. Dengan demikian, pengembangan bahan ajar berlandaskan teori belajar berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan efektivitas pembelajaran. Kajian SLR ini mengidentifikasi beberapa peluang penelitian lanjutan, yaitu: (1) masih terbatasnya penelitian yang menggunakan teori behaviorisme sebagai landasan pengembangan; (2) terbukanya peluang pengembangan buku ajar berbasis teori belajar pada mata pelajaran lain; dan (3) perlunya penelitian yang mengintegrasikan aspek-aspek positif dari berbagai teori belajar untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar yang lebih komprehensif.

Abstract

The low level of students’ interest and mathematics learning outcomes in solid geometry indicates the need for an instructional approach that actively engages students while helping them visualize abstract mathematical concepts. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Group Investigation learning model assisted by bamboo-stick manipulatives to improve the learning interest and mathematics achievement of eighth-grade students at MTs NW Senyiur. This study employed classroom action research based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model and was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages and was implemented in two meetings. The research participants comprised 22 students, although only 21 students completed the learning evaluation. Data were collected using a learning-interest questionnaire, observation sheets of teacher and student activities, and mathematics achievement tests. The data were analyzed descriptively using percentages of learning interest, classroom activities, and classical learning mastery. The findings showed that the average percentage of students’ learning interest increased from 64.77% in Cycle I, categorized as moderate, to 78.86% in Cycle II, categorized as good. Classical learning mastery increased from 42.85% in Cycle I to 80.95% in Cycle II. Students’ learning activities also improved from 65.83% to 85.83%. These findings indicate that the Group Investigation learning model assisted by bamboo-stick manipulatives created a more active, collaborative, and concrete learning environment, thereby improving students’ interest and mathematics learning outcomes in the topics of cubes and rectangular prisms.
