Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged mass media, especially print media, to transform in order to maintain its existence. This research aims to understand the adaptation process of Radar Cirebon Public Daily from print media to digital platform in facing the pressure of information disruption and changes in consumer behavior. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews and content analysis on the Radar Cirebon digital platform. Everett Rogers' Diffusion of Innovation Theory was used to analyze the stages of innovation adoption as well as innovation characteristics that influenced the transformation process. The results showed that Radar Cirebon's adaptation took place gradually through five phases: knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and reinforcement. In addition, this transformation involved changes in editorial work structure, organizational strategy, HR capacity building, and internal challenges in the form of cultural resistance. However, findings in the field also show a tendency for editors to produce processed content from online sources without direct coverage, raising critical questions regarding the loss of the essence of journalistic work and the shift in the role of editors to become mere SEO content producers. This research confirms that digital transformation requires not only technical adaptation, but also restructuring of work culture, professionalism values, and content innovation based on the needs of today's digital audience.

Abstract

This study discusses the preservation strategy of the Kelana Mask Dance in the modern era at the Nimas Mayangsari Studio, Cirebon Regency. This research is important because the development of modern entertainment and changes in people's interests pose challenges to the sustainability of traditional arts. The purpose of this study is to determine the strategy used by the Nimas Mayangsari Studio in preserving the Kelana Mask Dance amidst the changing times. The approach used is qualitative with descriptive methods. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation with informants. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the preservation strategy is carried out through coaching the younger generation in dance training, introducing philosophical values, utilizing social media, and collaborating with educational institutions. This strategy shows that the preservation of traditional arts requires the ability to adapt to social and technological developments without eliminating the cultural values that are the identity of the region.

Abstract

The Cirebon Mask Dance is a traditional cultural heritage that holds historical, philosophical, and cultural identity value for the Cirebon people. However, the development of globalization, modernization, and digital culture has led to changes in the lifestyles of the younger generation, which have also influenced the regeneration process of traditional arts. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the regeneration of the Cirebon Mask Dance amidst the cultural changes of the younger generation and to understand the various obstacles and preservation strategies undertaken by art studios and cultural actors. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of studio managers and young dancers of the Mask Dance in Cirebon. The results show that the regeneration of the Mask Dance is still ongoing, but has experienced changes in the patterns of involvement of the younger generation. Some young people still have an interest in the Mask Dance, especially through social media approaches, flexible learning, and cultural innovations that adapt to current developments. On the other hand, the regeneration process faces various obstacles such as changes in the interests of the younger generation, limited funds, minimal environmental support, and the view that traditional arts are old cultures that are less relevant to modern life.
