Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of inflation and population growth on economic growth in the city of Palangka Raya. Inflation and population are two key indicators believed to play a strategic role in shaping the direction of regional economic development. Using time series data from 1995 to 2024, this research investigates the relationship among the three variables through a quantitative approach. The results reveal that inflation has a negative and significant impact on economic growth, indicating that rising inflation tends to suppress the pace of regional economic progress. Conversely, population growth does not show a statistically significant effect, despite its continuous increase over the years. These findings highlight the importance of inflation control to maintain economic stability, as well as the need to enhance population quality in order to contribute more effectively to economic development. This study is expected to provide valuable insights for local governments in formulating more responsive and sustainable economic policies.
