Abstract

This study examines the principal's strategies in fostering teacher professionalism at SMK 3 PSKD North Jakarta, using a qualitative method and a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, with data analysis conducted using triangulation methods. The aim of this research is to identify the principal's role in building teacher professionalism at SMK 3 PSKD North Jakarta. Additionally, this study seeks to understand how the principal's strategies influence the quality of teaching and the effectiveness of learning in the school. The findings indicate that the principal plays a vital role as the highest leader in the school, serving as a good role model for both teachers and students, and acting as a nurturing figure akin to a parent, using both direct and indirect approaches. The strategies employed to enhance teacher professionalism include: (1) discipline, which is key to achieving success and excellence; (2) deliberation, where the principal holds monthly meetings to evaluate the teaching and learning activities; and (3) reward-giving, where the principal provides recognition as a form of appreciation for teachers who perform well.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the headmaster's strategy in developing a literacy culture at MTs Al-Mukhlishin Antibar. The background of this research is based on the low literacy habits among students, caused by the suboptimal role of the headmaster in managing literacy programs. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that the headmaster applied four main strategies: integration strategy by embedding literacy programs into the school's daily routines; intensive strategy by increasing the frequency of literacy activities; diversification strategy through varied reading activities; and defensive strategy by strengthening literacy habits and teacher role modeling. Furthermore, literacy culture management was supported by optimizing library facilities, implementing regular library visits, integrating literacy into the curriculum, and conducting routine supervision. This study concludes that the strategic role of the headmaster as an instructional leader significantly influences the strengthening of literacy culture in the madrasah environment. The developed literacy culture not only enhances academic skills but also shapes students' character to become literate, critical thinkers, and morally upright individuals in line with Islamic educational values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the model of supervision based on Qur’anic values as a strategic approach to addressing the challenges faced by Islamic education in the Society 5.0 era. The global transformation marked by rapid digitalization requires Islamic educational institutions not only to adapt technologically but also to uphold the integrity of spiritual and moral values. This research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach through literature review combined with field studies at Samingun Barakatul Ummah Foundation (Shaum), Wonogiri. The findings indicate that educational supervision grounded in Qur’anic values effectively bridges the need for technological mastery with the strengthening of moral character. Supervision at Shaum Foundation serves not only administrative oversight but also instills Qur’anic principles such as justice (al-‘adl), trustworthiness (amanah), honesty (ash-shidq), compassion (ar-rahmah), patience (ash-shabr), and knowledge (al-‘ilm). The implementation of Qur’anic-based supervision is reflected in the development of an integrative curriculum, digital literacy training infused with Islamic values, the reinforcement of collective leadership, and institutional governance that integrates technology with sharia-based values. This study concludes that Qur’anic-based supervision effectively enhances teachers’ professionalism, students’ character formation, and adaptive educational management capable of embracing technological advancement without compromising Islamic identity. These findings are expected to provide strategic recommendations for the development of relevant and competitive Islamic educational supervision in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis peran kepala madrasah sebagai supervisor dalam meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran di Yayasan Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jalal Jakarta Utara. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis studi kasus, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap kepala madrasah dan guru-guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala madrasah telah menjalankan fungsi supervisi akademik dalam tiga tahap utama: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan tindak lanjut. Meski terdapat upaya positif, supervisi yang dilakukan masih menghadapi kendala seperti keterbatasan waktu, kurangnya instrumen standar, serta belum optimalnya pelibatan guru dalam refleksi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menekankan bahwa supervisi yang ideal dalam konteks pesantren harus mengintegrasikan aspek manajerial, pedagogis, dan spiritual, sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Islam. Oleh karena itu, penguatan kapasitas supervisi kepala madrasah menjadi kunci strategis dalam membangun mutu pembelajaran yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

We conducted this research with the aim of deeply exploring the principal's role as academic supervisor in improving the quality of learning at SMP Darul Abrar Al Hasaniyah Balangan. Throughout the research process, we sought to understand firsthand how academic supervision practices are implemented, the obstacles encountered, and its impact on student learning processes and outcomes. Using a qualitative case study approach, we went directly to the field, conducted in-depth interviews, actively observed classrooms, and reviewed supporting documents. We selected informants purposively, involving the principal, teachers, educational staff, and students as primary sources of information. Our findings indicate that the principal serves not only as an administrative supervisor but also as a mentor, motivator, and role model for teachers. The academic supervision implemented is participatory and humanistic, with various supporting programs such as classroom observations, teacher discussion forums, in-house training, and ongoing teacher competency development training. We found a positive correlation between active and communicative supervision practices and increased teacher creativity in teaching, a more lively classroom atmosphere, and optimal student learning outcomes. This research further confirms that the principal's role as academic supervisor is a crucial pillar in transforming the quality of learning, particularly through an approach that prioritizes continuous development, character building, and a collaborative learning culture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan daya saing lembaga pendidikan Islam melalui implementasi kurikulum International Baccalaureate (IB) di SMP Plus Islamic Village Tangerang. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada fenomena semakin ketatnya kompetisi antar lembaga pendidikan, khususnya dalam menghadapi tuntutan globalisasi serta integrasi nilai-nilai keislaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah memainkan peran strategis dalam membangun visi global berbasis nilai Islam, pengembangan kompetensi guru yang mengintegrasikan keunggulan pedagogik dan spiritualitas, penguatan budaya sekolah berbasis nilai internasional, serta pengelolaan kemitraan strategis yang memperkuat reputasi institusi. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang adaptif, transformatif, dan kontekstual berkontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan daya saing lembaga pendidikan Islam, dengan mengharmoniskan nilai global dan nilai keislaman secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen pengembangan kurikulum terpadu dalam meningkatkan mutu tahfidz santri di SMPQT-SMAQT Yanbu’ul Qur’an 7 Bogor. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena meningkatnya tren penguatan identitas keislaman melalui integrasi kurikulum umum dengan program tahfidzul Qur’an. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana dengan validitas data diperkuat melalui triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen kurikulum terpadu di sekolah ini dirancang untuk mengharmonisasikan pencapaian akademik dan penguatan hafalan Al-Qur’an, dengan dukungan program halaqah intensif, evaluasi tasmi’ berkala, penguatan karakter Islami, serta pelibatan aktif guru, orang tua, dan lingkungan pendidikan yang kondusif. Program tahfidz didukung dengan pengelolaan sumber daya manusia bersanad, sarana prasarana yang representatif, serta sistem monitoring dan evaluasi berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberhasilan pengembangan kurikulum terpadu di sekolah tahfidz ditentukan oleh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, kualitas guru, sistem evaluasi holistik, serta kolaborasi dengan orang tua, sehingga mampu melahirkan generasi Qur’ani yang unggul secara akademik maupun spiritual.

Abstract

This study explores the role of transformational leadership by the Mudir in strengthening teacher loyalty and professionalism at Pondok Pesantren Al Khairat Bekasi Timur. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, with validation ensured via triangulation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman interactive model. Findings indicate that the Mudir’s leadership, aligned with Bass and Avolio’s four dimensions—idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration—effectively fosters teacher loyalty. Loyalty manifests not only in administrative compliance but also in emotional commitment, long-term dedication, and active participation in decision-making, rooted in Islamic values of khidmah, spiritual bonding, and syura. This study confirms that transformational leadership based on Islamic principles is key to enhancing teacher professionalism and institutional loyalty in pesantren education.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) operate under a holistic caregiving system encompassing spiritual development, moral guidance, discipline, and character building of students (santri). In this context, effective caregiving hinges on balancing structural firmness with a humanistic approach. These two dimensions often stand in tension, particularly in the daily management relationship between santri and the school’s security division, Qismu Amniyah. While firmness ensures order, an empathetic approach fosters psychological comfort and long-term loyalty among students. This study examines the integration of nguwongno wong—a Javanese philosophy of humanizing others—with the principle of al-ḥazm (wise firmness) in the caregiving system of Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah (Dalwa), viewed through the lens of Islamic educational management. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that Qismu Amniyah does not merely enforce discipline but also engages in emotionally resonant caregiving by integrating structural discipline with empathy, respect, and spiritual ethics rooted in local wisdom.This integrated caregiving model fosters emotional safety, psychological resilience, and student loyalty. Theoretically, it aligns with transformational leadership, servant leadership, and prophetic educational values, as emphasized by thinkers such as al-Ghazālī, KH. Maimoen Zubair, and Abuya Sayyid al-Maliki. Managerially, this approach provides a framework for value-based supervision that merges firmness with compassion. Furthermore, the study recommends a digital information system to support fair enforcement, transparent monitoring, and parental engagement. The findings underscore that the effectiveness of pesantren caregiving lies not in rigid rule enforcement, but in compassionate, respectful, and dignified relational practices.
