Abstract

Islamic Nusantara Education is an educational system rooted in universal Islamic values and local wisdom. This article examines the characteristics of Islamic Nusantara education from a philosophical perspective, including educators, students, materials, educational tools, and the environment. The study employed a qualitative-descriptive approach based on literature. The results indicate that this educational model is capable of addressing contemporary educational challenges with an approach incorporating moderation, spirituality, and local culture. This article also offers contributions and suggestions for strengthening character education based on Islamic Nusantara values in the era of globalization.

Abstract

Amidst the diversity of beliefs in life, harmony is a life goal that must be maintained and nurtured. Religious moderation offers a solution for coexistence and mutual assistance. However, amidst cultural diversity, especially beliefs, the government will not be successful without collaborating with community and religious leaders. Synergy between the government, religious and community leaders is necessary, so that an understanding of religious moderation is fully conveyed and practiced by the community at the grassroots level. This study aims to examine the role models and thoughts that have a significant impact on religious moderation education from a Sundanese religious figure, namely KH.R. Muhammad Nuh Bin Idris. The method used in this study is library research through a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through a literature review of both primary data such as his work Al-Ajwibatus Syafiyah li Dzawil 'Uqulis and secondary data. The results of this study indicate that the role of figures in broadcasting and disseminating the values ​​or understanding of religious moderation is very effective and has a significant impact on the lives of the community. This is influenced by a figure whose life serves as a central role model, a guiding principle, and a source of solutions in life. A figure's life revolves around the community or congregation almost 24 hours a day, even until death.

Abstract

Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) are not only required to comply with Sharia principles in a normative sense, but also to demonstrate professional ethics rooted in the moral consciousness of human resources. To date, efforts to strengthen professional ethics within IFIs have largely relied on regulatory and formal compliance approaches, which have not fully succeeded in cultivating internalized ethical integrity. This study aims to analyze the values of Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah (Aswaja) character education and examine their relevance in shaping professional ethics within Islamic financial institutions. This research employs a literature based approach using a qualitative conceptual normative framework, drawing on classical and contemporary Aswaja literature, studies on Islamic professional ethics, and relevant documents related to Islamic financial institutions. Data were analyzed through content analysis and descriptive-analytical methods. The findings indicate that the core Aswaja values tawassuth (moderation), tawazun (balance), tasamuh (tolerance), and i‘tidal (justice and integrity) possess substantive relevance as foundational principles of professional ethics in IFIs, as they shape professional mindsets, attitudes, and behaviors in an integrated manner. The internalization of Aswaja values serves to bridge Sharia norms and modern business practices, enabling professional ethics to evolve beyond procedural compliance toward sustained moral awareness. This study emphasizes the strategic importance of integrating Aswaja based character education as a complementary approach to strengthening professional ethics in Islamic financial institutions. Abstract

Tradisi haul dan haflah di pondok pesantren merupakan ruang kultural yang sangat sarat makna, namun belum banyak dikaji secara sistematis sebagai medium pembentukan karakter santri. Penelitian ini hadir untuk mengisi celah tersebut dengan menganalisis peran haul dan haflah dalam membentuk karakter santri melalui tiga lensa teoritis, yaitu kearifan lokal, nilai khidmah, dan experiential learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka dan analisis konseptual. Data dikumpulkan dari literatur primer dan sekunder yang mencakup kitab kuning, karya akademik tentang pesantren, jurnal terindeks Sinta, serta teori-teori pendidikan karakter kontemporer. Analisis dilakukan secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola nilai dan mekanisme pembentukan karakter dalam tradisi haul dan haflah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa haul dan haflah berfungsi sebagai medium pembentukan karakter yang efektif karena mengintegrasikan dimensi spiritual, sosial, dan kultural secara simultan. Kearifan lokal menjadi fondasi nilai, khidmah menjadi praktik pengabdian yang membentuk empati dan tanggung jawab sosial, sedangkan experiential learning menjadi kerangka proses belajar yang bermakna. Inti dari proses ini adalah apa yang penelitian ini sebut sebagai Pedagogi Kerja Kolektif: pilihan sadar pesantren untuk mempertahankan kerja kolektif langsung memasak, menjahit, mendekorasi, dan mengelola acara berskala besar secara mandiri sebagai wahana pedagogis yang tidak tergantikan, bukan karena soal efisien atau tidaknya, melainkan karena kerja kolektif itu sendiri adalah kurikulum karakter. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam memperkaya khazanah keilmuan pendidikan karakter berbasis pesantren dan menawarkan model konseptual yang relevan bagi pengembangan pendidikan karakter di lembaga pendidikan Islam.
