Abstract

The Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) procedure involves surgical trauma that triggers an inflammatory response, pain, and muscle weakness, so the patient tends to restrict movement. Physiologically, immobilization also reduces blood circulation, increases the risk of thrombosis, and worsens lung function due to lack of early mobilization. This study aims to systematically expose the effect of early mobilization on the recovery of physical function and prevention of immobilization in postoperative coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). The method uses search through 4 main databases, namely PubMed, Scopus, Sciencedirect and ProQuest with a span of 5 years from 2020 to 2025. The literature search used keywords, namely "early mobilization exercises", "immobilization prevention", "physical function", "post-operation CABG". The critical appraisal guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute are used for article quality assessment reviews. Results of this study is a total of nine articles were extracted related to early mobilization in the restoration of physical function as well as immobilization prevention in postoperative coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). Overall, the article produced several findings related to the existence of physical recovery and immobilization prevention points that support patients with several types of mobilization interventions ranging from basic to the use of tools implemented using various durations, frequencies and intensities. Early mobilization has a positive impact on the physical and psychological aspects and independence of patients. These findings support the need to implement early mobilization protocols as a standard part of CABG postoperative management, based on patient conditions, to optimize clinical outcomes and prevent immobilization-related complications.

Abstract

Introduction: The management of critically ill respiratory patients in ICU’s necessitates a holistic approach incorporating spiritual care. While nurses occupy a strategic position to deliver spiritual interventions, implementation barriers persist due to the absence of standardized protocols. Systematic integration of spiritual dimensions into routine care protocols may significantly enhance both patient well-being and overall clinical outcomes. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of nurse-led spiritual care on spiritual well-being of patients with respiratory diseases. Methods: A systematic review was conducted by 4 major database include Scopus, ProQuest, Science Direct and PubMed, for the last ten years publication 2015 to 2025 published in English. Egible studies included those that implemented of nurse led spiritual for individual with respiratory disease. Data extraction included study design, chacarteristic of participants and interventions, and measured outcome. Bias was assessed using the JBI Critical Appraisal Tools. Result: Nine studies (n = 9) scored by JBI critical appraisal from 77% to 92% included in the final analysis, involved 601 respondens from 7 countries, with duration of interventions ranging from 10 days to 24 weeks. The spiritual nursing care showed that nurse-delivered spiritual care interventions exert measurable positive effects on spiritual well-being among patients with respiratory diseases, with concomitant benefits observed across psychological and physiological health domains. Conclusion: The studied demonstrates that nurse-led spiritual care significantly improves spiritual well-being and related health outcomes in respiratory patients. The findings support integrating structured spiritual interventions into standard respiratory care, tailored to individual clinical and cultural needs. Future implementation requires both clinical guideline adoption and continued research to optimize long-term therapeutic benefits.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Nursing has an important role in improving the health and prevention of complications of post-surgical patients. One of the nursing interventions that can be provided is Pelvic Floor Muscle Exercise (Kegel) which aims to strengthen the muscles that support the bladder and intestines, which are often affected after prostate surgery. To systematically explore the effect of strength training on reducing pain and improving physical function in postoperative prostate cancer patients. The method uses a search through 4 major databases namely PubMed, Scopus, Sciencedirect and ProQuest with a range of 5 years from 2020 to 2025. The literature search used keywords namely "strength training", "pain intensity", "physical function", "postoperative prostate cancer". The critical appraisal guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute were used for the appraisal review of the journal. Twelve articles were extracted regarding the effect of strength training on reducing pain and improving physical function in postoperative prostate cancer patients. Overall, the articles yielded several findings regarding differences in pain and physical functional ability with different types of strength training implemented using varying duration, frequency and intensity. Strength training has significant benefits in helping postoperative prostate cancer patients. It is effective in reducing pain, especially pelvic pain and pain related to urinary incontinence, as well as improving the physical function of patients Keywords: Pain Intensity, Physical Therapy, Prostate Cancer, Strength Training.
