Abstract: The issue of low halal literacy among elementary school students poses a significant challenge to efforts in fostering religious character from an early age. Initial surveys at SD Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya revealed that only 22% of students correctly understood the concept of halal, while the majority still held misconceptions. To address this problem, the community service team developed Halal-Fun, a digital edutainment-based learning media designed to enhance students’ understanding and skills in identifying and distinguishing halal and haram aspects of the goods and services they consume. The program included needs analysis, application design, teacher training, classroom implementation, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests, observations, and interviews. The results show that students’ halal literacy improved by more than 40% after the intervention, as reflected in their ability to recognize halal labels, make appropriate consumption choices, and develop a more critical attitude toward snacks available around the school. Teachers also experienced an increase in pedagogical capacity, particularly in utilizing educational technology. Thus, Halal-Fun has proven effective in enhancing students’ halal literacy and religious values and holds the potential for replication in other schools.
