Abstract

A well recognition and understanding national history plays an important role in shaping the character of nation, especially Padri War history which tells about a dispute between two clans but then allied to defend against invaders. History’s subject in school which is taught by telling story and reading books makes student not interested in studying history. In this case, we need a different approach to makes student in fifth grade more interested to learn it. One of alternative learning media that can be applied to fifth graders is the application of Padri War. In this application, Padri War is described in 3D animation video and there are many of trivial questions in it to test user ability. The result of the application testing conducted to five teacher respondents concludes this interactive application could be the best alternative learning method for fifth grade elementary school student today. The conclusion reflects on the assessment indicators of 80% material aspect, 72.5 % general aspect, 78,9% quality display, presentation of the material to 75%, and 84% of user interaction. On the student respondents, the visual design aspect in the Padri War learning is worth 79.3%. Overall, presentation study material in the form of 3D animation video would certainly increase the interest of elementary students in learning history.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to enhance the user experience of Learning Management Systems (LMS) by integrating two established design frameworks: the UX Five Elements and Design Thinking. The research addresses the need for a more structured yet human-centered design process to improve the usability and engagement of LMS platforms in higher education. Methods: The research adopts a design and development approach by combining the UX Five Elements, which offer a systematic structure across five user experience layers, with Design Thinking, which emphasizes empathy and iterative user involvement. This integration forms an Extended Model Design (EMD) used to guide the development of a new LMS interface. The final system was evaluated using usability testing involving students as target users. Result: Evaluation of the LMS prototype using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) showed positive perceptions on all six dimensions, with the highest scores on the Efficiency (1.644) and Attractiveness (1.634) aspects, reflecting a practical and attractive system design. Although the Novelty (1.203) aspect had the lowest score, its value was still above the positive threshold, indicating that the system was functionally good but could still be improved in terms of innovation to strengthen user engagement. Novelty: This study introduces a novel design framework by integrating UX Five Elements with Design Thinking in the context of LMS development. Extended Model Design (EMD) offers a replicable model that balances structure and user empathy, contributing to user-centered e-learning system design.

Abstract

Badan Pengurus Cabang Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia (BPC-HIPMI) Kota Pekanbaru merupakan wadah bagi seluruh pengusaha muda yang ada di Kota Pekanbaru yang memiliki tujuan dan visi misi yang sama dalam mengembangkan perekonomian. Selaras dengan hal tersebut dibutuhkan peran serta teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) untuk menunjang digitalisasi tata kelola perekonomian. Digitalisasi bisnis yang memanfaatkan TIK selanjutnya disebut dengan e-business. Luaran kegiatan ini adalah edukasi pemanfaatan sistem e-business yang telah dikembangkan, yang dilakukan dalam sebuah kegiatan pelatihan. Sasaran peserta pelatihan adalah pengurus dan anggota BPC-HIPMI Kota Pekanbaru. Kegiatan ini disambut baik oleh seluruh peserta, yang diukur berdasarkan umpan balik positif yang diberikan. Peserta sepakat bahwa sistem e-business memberikan kebermanfaatan bagi organisasi, dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 4.33. Kemudahan mengoperasikan sistem juga dirasakan peserta, dimana rata-rata skor usability adalah 4.29. Secara keseluruhan peserta merasakan kepuasan dalam mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan ini, karena dapat membantu proses digitalisasi bisnis UKM yang bernaung di bawah BPC-HIPMI Kota Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Cassava is one of the primary food commodities with a strategic role in supporting food security. In Riau Province, cassava production centers continue to grow annually. One of the cassava-based products with increasing demand in both national and international markets is cassava flour. RH Laksmana Cassava Flour is a producer located in Kampar Regency, relying on sunlight for drying cassava chips and manually sieving flour using a 40 cm kitchen sieve, which is inefficient. Marketing efforts are limited to personal social media accounts. This community service project implemented two machines, provided a website and its training, and conducted digital marketing training. Results showed a 41.6% improvement in sieving time efficiency and a 140% increase in sieved production output. Drying processes also became more hygienic and weather-independent, with a capacity of 160 kg/day

Abstract

SLB AlFaqih merupakan salah satu sekolah swasta untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus di Pekanbaru di bawah pengelolaan Yayasan AlFaqih. Sebagai sekolah swasta, pengelolaan keuangan dan aset menjadi sangat penting untuk mengoptimalisasi ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana serta akuntabilitas dan transparansi pengelolaan keuangan secara keseluruhan, sehingga sekolah memiliki siklus hidup yang panjang dengan pemasukan dan pengeluaran keuangan yang efektif dan efisien. Saat ini, SLB AlFaqih mengandalkan pencatatan melalui Microsoft Excel oleh Bendahara dan pencatatan manual di kertas dalam pengelolaan keuangan dan aset, sehingga pengelola dan Yayasan kesulitan dalam pelaporan dan monitoring keuangan dan pengelolaan aset sekolah karena membutuhkan waktu yang lama dan sering hilangnya bukti transaksi dan pengeluaran aset yang dimiliki.  Mengatasi masalah tersebut, dirancang sebuah sistem informasi pengelolaan keuangan dan aset berbasis web yang bertujuan untuk mengoptimalisasi pengelolaan, memudahkan pencatatan transaksi dan meningkatkan akuntabilitas keuangan. Dalam hal ini, pengelolaan aset menggunakan pendekatan Asset Life Cycle Management. Sistem dibangun menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan MySQL sebagai database. Hasil uji fungsionalitas black box testing dan User Acceptance Test (UAT) didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa sistem 100% berhasil dibangun menunjukkan bahwa semua fitur sistem telah diimplementasikan dengan baik sesuai kebutuhan pengguna.

Abstract

The most significant change in education due to the pandemic is the implementation of online evaluation methods. Online exams provide students with the flexibility to take tests from any lo-cation. Although online examinations offer flexibility for learners to participate from any loca-tion, their implementation still faces various challenges, such as the potential for cheating, tech-nical disruptions, and limited accessibility for users with diverse physical conditions and digital competencies. These issues highlight the need for designing online examination interfaces that are not only easy to use but also inclusive. This study aims to design the user interface and user expe-rience by employing the design thinking approach and applying the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to enhance interface accessibility starting from the design phase. The WCAG 2.0 standard, developed by the W3C, is applied as a guideline for meeting accessibility require-ments. The WCAG principles implemented include perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness. Usability testing on the prototype was conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS), scoring 69. This score indicates that the designed prototype falls into the "marginal high" category within the acceptability range. Accessibility testing using Axe for Designers indi-cated that, overall, the prototype met accessibility requirements. The results also show that inte-grating WCAG 2.0 principles during the design stage effectively enhances the accessibility of the user interface.
