Abstract

The low level of information literacy of students is caused by limitations in finding, processing and using information effectively. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Discovery learning model on information literacy and determine the differences in information literacy between the experimental class and the control class for class V students at SDN 5 Metro Timur. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent control group design. The research population was all 41 class V students at SDN 5 Metro Timur, using a saturated sampling technique, namely class VB as the experimental class and class VA as the control class. Data collection was carried out through tests and non-tests. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model, as well as t-test to determine differences in information literacy between classes. The research results show that the Discovery learning model has an influence on increasing students' information literacy. Apart from that, the t-test results show that there is a significant difference in information literacy in line with the hypothesis.
