Abstract

The digitalization of education is an inevitable phenomenon in the era of information and communication technology development. This transformation has significantly changed the learning process, including the relationship between teachers and students. This study aims to analyze the implications of educational digitalization on teacher–student relationships from the perspectives of humanization and dehumanization. The research employs a qualitative approach with a library research method by analyzing relevant literature sources. The findings indicate that educational digitalization has dual implications. On the one hand, it promotes the humanization of learning by enabling a more flexible, participatory, and student-centered learning environment. On the other hand, it may also lead to dehumanization, characterized by reduced direct interaction, weakened emotional connection, and a tendency toward mechanical learning processes. Therefore, the use of technology in education must be balanced with a humanistic pedagogical approach to preserve human values in the learning process.
