Abstract

One of the benefits of using a farmer card is to access subsidized fertilizers. Farmer cards are those programmed by the government and can function to ease all farmers' affairs in making loans, transactions, savings and regarding the acquisition of subsidized fertilizers. This research was motivated by problems in the farmer card program which according to the community was less useful for them, especially in terms of accessing fertilizer. The farmer card is expected to be able to overcome the problem of fertilizer distribution that is not on target and is expected to be able to provide welfare for every farmer owned by farmers with the fertilizer obtained, so that the farm that is run produces satisfactory production for the farmers themselves. The results showed that, on average, the number of farmers who did not understand the farmer card was 60%, while those who understood the farmer card were 37%. This is due to the lack of socialization from related agencies, causing a lack of understanding of farmers towards the farmer card program, especially given the fact there are some farmers who have not studied at all. This farmer card has also not been benefited by farmers, so farmers have difficulty getting subsidized fertilizer and have to spend expensive costs to obtain fertilizer.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the issue that the role of educators in shaping student character at Raka Catholic Elementary School has not been carried out effectively. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of teachers in shaping students’ character values at Raka Catholic Elementary School. The focus of this study is the role of teachers as mentors and role models in fostering student character outside of classroom learning activities. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method, employing three data collection techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation. Descriptive qualitative research aims to reveal issues, conditions, and events. The research findings indicate that teachers’ role as mentors in shaping students’ character has not yet been fully realized. Meanwhile, teachers’ role as role models is functioning well, as evidenced by their religious devotion, discipline, sense of responsibility, honesty, hard work, and social awareness, all of which are reflected in their daily lives within the school environment. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that the role of teachers as mentors has not been fully realized, whereas their role as role models has been effective in shaping students’ character values at SDK Raka. The ineffectiveness of the teacher’s role as a mentor is evident in the suboptimal implementation of certain character values such as discipline, responsibility, independence, hard work, honesty, and social concern which have not been consistently applied by students, although religious character values have been implemented quite well. Meanwhile, the role of teachers as role models has been carried out effectively, as evidenced by their attitudes, behaviors, and concrete examples in various daily activities within the school environment.
