Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed to improve the learning outcomes of first-grade students at SD N 067259 Medan Johor in Mathematics, specifically on the topic of plane shapes, through the use of Montessori media. This research was motivated by initial observations indicating variations in students' understanding and suboptimal learning outcomes in plane shapes. The action hypothesis in this study was that the use of concrete and manipulative Montessori media could enhance student engagement and understanding of plane shape concepts, thereby positively impacting their learning outcomes. This research was conducted in two cycles, each involving the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were first-grade students at SD N 067259 Medan Johor for the academic year 2024/2025. Research data were collected through observations of student and teacher activities during the learning process and formative tests at the end of each cycle. Data analysis was performed quantitatively (comparison of average scores and the percentage of students achieving the learning mastery criteria between cycles) and qualitatively (description of learning activities and reflections). The results of the study showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes from Cycle I to Cycle II after the implementation of learning using Montessori media. The class average score increased from 70 to 85, and the percentage of students achieving the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) increased from 50% to 90%. The conclusion of this research is that the use of Montessori media is effective in improving the learning outcomes of first-grade students at SD N 067259 Medan Johor in the topic of plane shapes. This research provides practical implications for first-grade teachers in implementing more concrete and student-centered learning approaches through the use of Montessori media to enhance the understanding of mathematical concepts

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying the Pop-Up Book learning media to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 067259 Medan Johor on the topic of spatial geometry. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle, the average score of students was 61.4 with 10 students completing the task and 15 students not completing it. In the first cycle, the average score increased to 74.2 with 17 students completing the task and 8 students not completing it. In the second cycle, the average score further increased to 83.6 with 23 students completing the task and 2 students not completing it. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Pop-Up Book learning media is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the topic of spatial geometry.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics Grade III students of SDN 067259 Medan Johor district on flat building materials through the application of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning models. The background of this study is based on the low learning outcomes and lack of enthusiasm of students in following the learning of mathematics. This study uses the approach of classroom Action Research (PTK) Kemmis and McTaggart model which is implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consists of stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation and reflection. The subjects of the study were 20 students of Class III. Data collection techniques are conducted through observation, learning outcomes tests, and documentation. The results showed that the application of CTL model can improve student learning outcomes. In the first cycle, the percentage of students ' learning completeness reached 60%, then increased to 85% in the second cycle. In addition, students ' learning activities also increased, where students were more active, enthusiastic, and able to associate the concept of waking up flat with everyday life. Thus, the CTL learning model proved effective in improving students ' understanding and learning outcomes on flat building materials.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Class V students of SDN 067259 Medan Johor district on pollution and its impact through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The background of this research is based on the low learning outcomes of students and the lack of enthusiasm of students in following the learning of science. This study uses the approach of classroom Action Research (PTK) with models from Kemmis and McTaggart implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects in this study were 27 students of Class V. Data collection techniques are conducted through observation, learning outcomes tests, and documentation. The results showed that the application of Problem-Based Learning model was able to improve student learning outcomes. The percentage of students ' learning completeness increased from 55% in cycle I to 85% in Cycle II. In addition, students ' learning activities also showed a significant increase, where students became more active in discussions, enthusiastic in finding solutions to environmental problems, and were able to connect pollution materials with everyday life in a critical and reflective manner. Thus, The Problem-Based Learning Learning model proved effective in improving students ' understanding, concern, and learning outcomes on pollution and its impacts.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the activeness and learning outcomes of students in mathematics learning through the application of cooperative learning model type Team Games Tournament (TGT) in Class V SD Negeri 067259 Medan Johor. The method used is Class Action Research (PTK) which consists of two cycles, each of which includes the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 25 fifth grade students in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection techniques are done through observation, learning outcomes tests, and documentation. The results showed an increase in student activity and learning outcomes after the application of the TGT model. Students ' activeness increased gradually from low category in pre-cycle to active in Cycle II. Student learning outcomes also increased with learning completeness reaching 36% in pre-cycle, 60% in cycle I, and increased significantly to 88% in Cycle II. Thus, the TGT learning model proved to be effective in improving the activeness and learning outcomes of students in Mathematics.

The background of this research is the low student learning outcomes on the solar system material, caused by the lack of variety in teaching methods and limited student engagement during the learning process. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 30 sixth-grade students. Data collection techniques included tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes from Cycle I to Cycle II. In Cycle I, the percentage of students who achieved mastery learning was 66.67%, which increased to 86.67% in Cycle II. In addition, student engagement in the learning process also improved. Thus, the implementation of the Quantum Teaching model proved effective in enhancing student learning outcomes on the topic of the solar system.
