Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) on the topic of food chains through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model supported by interactive learning media. The research was conducted in class V-B of SDN 060912 Medan Denai using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model. The learning process was carried out in two cycles. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle, the average score was 60 with a mastery level of 45%. After the application of the PBL model supported by interactive media, the average score increased to 70.3 with 66% mastery in the first cycle, and further increased to 84.1 with 93% mastery in the second cycle. During the lessons, students demonstrated enthusiasm and active participation through group discussions, problem solving, and the use of student worksheets. It can be concluded that the implementation of PBL supported by interactive media is effective in improving IPAS learning outcomes on the food chain topic.
