Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to develop Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media on the human digestive system to improve the scientific literacy of fifth-grade students at SDN Kalisari, Batang Regency. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The developed media utilized AR markers to display three-dimensional (3D) objects and animations of digestive organs. Expert validation results indicated that the developed media was highly feasible for use, with material validity of 0.84 and media validity of 0.83. The field trial involved 14 students using a pretest–posttest design. The paired-samples t-test results showed a significant improvement in students' scientific literacy, with a significance value of < 0.001 (p < 0.05). Therefore, the AR-based learning media was considered valid and effective in improving students' scientific literacy in IPAS learning among fifth-grade students at SDN Kalisari, Batang Regency.
