Abstract

This study aims to investigate the implementation of the frequency-based Deep Learning instructional method to improve students’ knowledge of the virus concept at SMA Negeri 1 Cibinong. The research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design, involving 36 tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Cibinong as research subjects. The research instrument was a concept knowledge test on viruses administered before and after the learning intervention. The results showed an increase in the average score from 57.11 in the pretest to 84.33 in the posttest, with an N-Gain value of 0.63, which falls into the medium–high category. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the frequency-based Deep Learning method is effective in enhancing students’ knowledge and conceptual understanding of biology material, particularly the concept of viruses.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools often shows low conceptual understanding and limited student engagement because instruction is mainly teacher-centered and rarely connected to real-life contexts. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach on students’ science learning outcomes. The research employed a quasi-experimental method using a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 30 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments based on science competency indicators. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ scores after the CTL implementation, as reflected in the higher posttest average. These findings suggest that CTL helps students build more meaningful scientific understanding and enhances their participation during learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes on the topic of Bacteria through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI)–based learning combined with a constructivist approach. The research employed a quasi-experimental method using a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants were 30 tenth-grade students from SMA Negeri 1 Cibinong Kabupaten Cianjur during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, selected through purposive sampling based on technology readiness. Data were collected using pretest and posttest assessments to measure changes in students’ understanding after the learning intervention. The data were analyzed using gain scores to determine the effectiveness of the AI-based learning model. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes following the intervention. These results show that AI-based learning supported by constructivist principles is effective in helping students build conceptual understanding and enhance their academic achievement on the topic of Bacteria.
