Abstract

ABSTRACT The importance of innovation in instructional media in religious education encourages teachers to develop more interactive and contextual methods so that students can understand learning materials more meaningfully. This study aims to develop a project-based role-play game learning media on the topic of contracts (akad) and buying–selling transactions for second-grade students of Madrasah Aliyah. The background of this research is the low level of student engagement in Fiqh learning due to conventional approaches that are less contextual and interactive. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results show that the developed media effectively increases students’ active participation, practical understanding of the material, and social skills such as communication and collaboration. Limited trials indicate positive responses from both students and teachers, although several technical constraints were encountered, such as limited instructional time and initial adaptation to the role-play method. In conclusion, this learning media is feasible to be used to improve the quality of Fiqh learning so that it becomes more contextual, engaging, and aligned with the characteristics of Generation Z, while also supporting more collaborative, participatory, and experiential learning in the school environment. ABSTRAK Pentingnya inovasi media pembelajaran dalam pendidikan agama mendorong guru untuk mengembangkan metode yang lebih interaktif dan kontekstual agar siswa dapat memahami materi secara lebih bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa game role play berbasis proyek pada materi akad dan jual beli untuk siswa kelas 2 Madrasah Aliyah. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran Fikih akibat pendekatan konvensional yang kurang kontekstual dan interaktif. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahapan analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan efektif meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa, pemahaman materi secara aplikatif, serta keterampilan sosial seperti komunikasi dan kerja sama. Uji coba terbatas menunjukkan respon positif dari siswa dan guru, meskipun terdapat kendala teknis seperti keterbatasan waktu dan adaptasi awal terhadap metode role play. Kesimpulannya, media pembelajaran ini layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Fikih yang kontekstual, menyenangkan, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik generasi Z, serta berpotensi mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih kolaboratif, partisipatif, dan berorientasi pada pengalaman belajar nyata di lingkungan sekolah.
