Abstract

Kata kunci: manajemen pameran; tata pajang; layak anak---Display Management for Child Audiences at the Kids Biennale Indonesia 2025 Exhibition. Art plays a significant role in the development of creativity and self-expression in children. Kids Biennale Indonesia serves as a platform that facilitates a space for young generations to showcase their artworks, while simultaneously introducing them to the world of visual arts from an early age. In its implementation, the display arrangement of artworks constitutes one of the key elements that determines the success of an exhibition. A well-considered arrangement not only reinforces the curatorial message, but also creates a visually engaging and educational experience for visitors, particularly children. This study aims to examine how the display arrangement at Kids Biennale Indonesia 2025 can accommodate children’s perspectives and foster greater inclusivity. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to enable an in-depth exploration of the phenomenon, particularly with regard to children’s visual experience, comfort, and interaction as audiences engaging with the exhibited artworks. The findings indicate that the eye-level height applied at Kids Biennale Indonesia 2025 is 135 cm, adjusted to the average height of primary school-aged children in Indonesia. Pedestals for three-dimensional works are set at an average height of 70 cm, while hanging works are mounted at a forward tilt of 10-15 degrees to accommodate children’s viewing angles. Keywords: exhibition management; display arrangement; child-friendly

Abstract

This research aims to understand the role of visual art in shaping identity, strengthening communication, and supporting the existence of a new generation of underground music communities in Bandung, with a focus on communities within the ISBI Bandung environment. The study highlights how visual elements such as posters, logos, album covers, and merchandise designs function as mediums of expression, promotion, and representation of the community’s collective values-including the spirit of inclusivity, resistance, and D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself). The research employs a qualitative analytical approach, using data collection techniques such as interviews, participatory observation, and documentation study. Data were gathered from community members and visual artists directly involved in the ISBI Bandung ecosystem. The findings show that collaboration between musicians and visual artists occurs organically, based on friendships, yet maintains a level of professionalism. Visual art plays a crucial role in reinforcing the musical message and expanding the community’s reach into digital spaces, particularly through social media platforms like Instagram. Beyond its aesthetic function, visual art serves as an effective communication tool that bridges artistic and social experiences between the community and the public. This research affirms that visual art is a fundamental element in shaping an alternative cultural ecosystem amid the currents of globalization and the dominance of popular culture.
