Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on critical thinking skills in Pancasila Education subjects for fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Leming. This study used a quantitative pre-experimental approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The study location was SDN 1 Leming, Leming Village, Terara District. The study population included all first- to sixth-grade students at SDN 1 Leming, with a sample of 33 fifth-grade students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through tests and observations. The data normality test was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk test at a significance level of ?=0.05, indicating that the data were normally distributed. The thinking skills learning outcome test showed an average pretest score of 55.97 and an average posttest score of 76.79. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using the paired sample t-test (t-test) with the assistance of IBM SPSS version 25, the hypothesis test for students' critical thinking skills learning outcomes produced a t-count value of -8.132 ? -1.694, or a significance value of 0.000 ? 0.05. Thus, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This indicates that there is an effect of the Problem-Based Learning model on critical thinking skills in the Pancasila education subject of fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Leming.
