Abstract

The low descriptive text writing skills of elementary school students are due to the use of less interactive and interesting learning media. The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of the use of MOSI (Monopoly Description) media on the descriptive text writing skills of third-grade elementary school students. In this study, a quantitative research type was used with an experimental approach through a post-test control group design. Data collection techniques were carried out using a written test (post-test), while data analysis techniques included normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests using independent sample t-tests. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class's writing skills was higher than the control class, and the results of statistical tests showed a significance value of 0.001 <0.05, which indicated a significant effect of the use of MOSI media on students' descriptive text writing skills. The use of MOSI media has an effect on the descriptive text writing skills of third-grade elementary school students so that MOSI media can be an innovative learning media that can improve students' descriptive text writing skills in Indonesian language learning.
