Abstract

This study examines the concept of the sakinah family as a preventive framework against bullying from a hadith-based perspective. Employing a qualitative library research design, the primary data sources consist of canonical hadith collections—particularly Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Sunan Abī Dāwūd, and Sunan al-Tirmidhī—. Secondary sources include contemporary scholarly works on bullying, child psychology, and Islamic family studies published in peer-reviewed journals. Using thematic hadith analysis (al-dirāsah al-mawḍū‘iyyah) and a socio-normative approach, this study identifies four operative mechanisms through which the sakinah family model functions in preventing bullying: (1) the internalization of compassion (raḥmah) through prophetic parenting patterns, (2) the cultivation of emotional regulation based on the prohibition of anger-driven aggression, (3) dialogical conflict resolution modeled in the Prophet’s household interactions, and (4) moral-social accountability reinforced through teachings on dignity (karāmah) and the prohibition of humiliation. These mechanisms operate at the levels of character formation, emotional development, and social behavior control within the family structure. The novelty of this research lies in its analytical reconstruction of hadith narratives into a concrete preventive model against bullying, moving beyond general normative discussions of the sakinah family toward a structured socio-ethical framework grounded in prophetic traditions. By bridging classical hadith scholarship and contemporary bullying discourse, this study offers a conceptually integrative and practically applicable contribution to Islamic family studies

Abstract

Abstract

The limited public understanding of Islamic economic jurisprudence despite the rapid expansion of the Islamic economic system has contributed to persistent misconceptions in contemporary muʿāmalāt. This study aims to analyze the integration of collaborative communication into Islamic economic law education from the perspectives of Prophetic ḥadīth and maqāṣid al-sharīʿah according to al-Shāṭibī, and to formulate its implications for participatory Islamic economic education. This qualitative library research analyzes classical ḥadīth collections, scholarly commentaries, and relevant peer-reviewed literature using a thematic ḥadīth approach and descriptive-analytical reasoning. The analysis focuses on Prophetic traditions concerning transactional disclosure, dialogical clarification, dispute resolution, and the prohibition of deception, and interprets their communicative values through Collaborative Communication Theory and al-Shāṭibī’s maqāṣid framework. The findings reveal four interconnected principles of collaborative communication in Islamic economic education: shared understanding, information transparency, trust-building, and mutual responsibility. These principles are reflected in the Prophet’s ﷺ guidance concerning protection from transactional deception, dialogical clarification of economic rulings, peaceful resolution of sales disputes, and disclosure of defects in goods. From the maqāṣid perspective, their integration supports ḥifẓ al-dīn through religious understanding, ḥifẓ al-ʿaql through critical economic literacy, and ḥifẓ al-māl through the prevention of harmful and non-compliant practices. The study contributes a normative-educational model linking Prophetic communication values with collaborative learning and maqāṣid-oriented outcomes. It recommends strengthening dialogical, transparent, and multi-stakeholder approaches in Islamic economic education and further empirical research to assess their implementation

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of illicit trade poses significant challenges to economic justice, public security, and social stability. Although previous studies have predominantly examined illicit trade from legal, economic, and criminological perspectives, limited attention has been given to the normative framework of the Prophetic hadith and its relevance to contemporary social stability. This study aims to analyze the prevention of illicit trade from the perspectives of the Prophetic hadith, Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), and Maqasid al-Shariah. Employing a qualitative library research design, the study applies thematic analysis to five relevant hadiths contained in al-Kutub al-Sittah and interprets them through the analytical frameworks of CDA and Maqasid al-Shariah. The findings demonstrate that the Prophetic hadiths establish a comprehensive ethical framework for preventing illicit trade by prohibiting fraud, unlawful commodities, hoarding, and transactions involving gharar, while promoting honesty and trustworthiness as the foundations of Islamic commercial ethics. These principles support the realization of the essential objectives of the Shariah, particularly the preservation of religion (hifz al-din), life (hifz al-nafs), wealth (hifz al-mal), and intellect (hifz al-aql), thereby strengthening public trust, market integrity, and social stability. This study concludes that the Prophetic hadith provides not only religious guidance but also a normative and ethical framework for contemporary policies aimed at preventing illicit trade and promoting sustainable economic governance. The study contributes to contemporary Islamic legal scholarship by integrating Prophetic hadith, Critical Discourse Analysis, and Maqasid al-Shariah into a unified analytical framework for illicit trade prevention.
