Abstract

The increase in global waste generation has serious impacts on health and the environment. Utilizing organic waste into eco-enzymes—an environmentally friendly multipurpose liquid—is an innovative solution. This activity aims to empower the Aisyiyah women's group in managing organic waste economically and sustainably. The method is based on community empowerment through FGDs, socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The results show an increase in the Aisyiyah women's group's knowledge about eco-enzymes, which was initially only 37.89% to 75.00%. Furthermore, the skills in making eco-enzyme fermentation liquid also increased by 45.78%, from 32.43% to 70.32%. Participants' skills and motivation to produce eco-enzymes independently. Awareness of the circular economy also increased. This activity contributes to waste reduction, increased environmental awareness, and the strategic role of women in sustainable waste management.

Abstract

Elementary school-aged children are a vulnerable group to nutritional problems due to unhealthy consumption patterns, particularly high consumption of junk food and sugary drinks. Lack of understanding of balanced nutrition can impact students' health, concentration in learning, and academic achievement. This community service activity aims to increase students' knowledge about the importance of nutritious food and the dangers of consuming sugary drinks. The activity was carried out at SD Negeri 101 Muara Bungo with a target of 61 third-grade students. The methods used included a pretest, interactive counseling, discussion, and posttest. The results of the activity showed an increase in the average score from 95.00% in the pretest to 97.05% in the posttest. These results indicate that health education is effective in increasing students' understanding and has the potential to form healthy lifestyle behaviors from an early age.
