Abstract

Consumption of coffee in Indonesia has increased alongside changes in people's lifestyles, particularly among the younger generation. Surakarta is a relatively advanced city, both economically and socially. Surakarta’s high urbanization rate and youthful demographic profile provide a fertile environment for the coffee retail sector. Consequently, this study examines the consumption behaviors of Generation Z in the region. Utilizing a descriptive quantitative method with a survey approach, this study sampled 30 samples. Research findings on coffee consumption behavior among Generation Z in Surakarta revealed that the majority of respondents had adopted a coffee-drinking routine for more than three years. This phenomenon indicates a deep integration between coffee consumption and contemporary behavioral patterns and lifestyles in this demographic group. Coffee is consumed moderately, at 2–3 times per week, with most people tending to order one cup each time. The most popular time to drink coffee is at night, suggesting that it plays a role in supporting study, work and social activities. Cappuccino is the most popular type of coffee drink, reflecting Generation Z's preference for coffee with a balanced taste and a milk base. The most popular places to purchase coffee are warung or angkringan, suggesting that affordability, accessibility and a relaxed atmosphere are the main considerations when purchasing coffee.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the extent of social change, adaptation strategies, and the effectiveness of adaptation strategies among oil palm farmers, as well as to examine the influence of social change on adaptation strategies and its impact on the effectiveness of farmers’ adaptation strategies in Pondok Kelapa Subdistrict, Central Bengkulu Regency. Methodology : This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method on oil palm farmers as research respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method to test the influence between social change, adaptation strategies, and the effectiveness of adaptation strategies. Results: The results of the study indicate that social change has a significant impact on the adaptation strategies of oil palm farmers. The adaptation strategies employed by farmers were also found to have a significant impact on the effectiveness of these strategies, whereas the direct impact of social change on the effectiveness of adaptation strategies was not significant. Findings: This finding indicates that the higher the adaptation strategies implemented by farmers, the higher the effectiveness of adaptation strategies achieved in maintaining the sustainability of oil palm farming amid the dynamics of social change. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in its examination of the role of adaptation strategies as a mediating variable in the relationship between social change and the effectiveness of adaptation strategies among oil palm farmers, using the SEM-PLS approach. Originality: The originality of this study lies in its research subjects and location palm oil farmers in Pondok Kelapa Subdistrict, Central Bengkulu Regency as well as in its focus on the effectiveness of farmers’ adaptation strategies in coping with social change. Conclusion : Farmers’ ability to respond to social changes through appropriate adaptation strategies is a key factor in enhancing the effectiveness of adaptation and the sustainability of oil palm farming. Abstract

Situation analysis of pendap businesses in Rawamkmur Permai in Bengkulu City shows good prospects in terms of material availability and market targets. However, there are several problems in the business, namely related to the quality and quantity of products in terms of durability, production quantities, and unattractive packaging. Apart from that, there is still a lack of knowledge regarding the legality of digital business and marketing. The main aim of this activity is to improve the quality and quantity of local micro small and medium enterprises in terms of production, packaging, marketing, and licensing. The method used is a training assistance method with simulation techniques. The target of the activity is the family welfare development group in Rawamakmur Permai in Bengkulu City. The stages of service activities consist of: 1) the observation stage (2) mentoring/training stage, (3) the monitoring stage. The result of this activity is an increase in target knowledge regarding the quality and quantity of pendap production. This activity also produces pendap products that have longer shelf life and attractive packaging.
