Abstract

Abstrak: Perkembangan tren fashion yang dinamis mendorong lahirnya berbagai inovasi bentuk dalam rancangan busana. Inspirasi dalam proses desain kerap kali muncul dari keindahan alam dan fenomena sosial di sekitarnya. Penelitian ini berfokus pada penciptaan desain busana digital ready to wear deluxe yang terinspirasi dari bentuk dan keindahan ikan betta jenis halfmoon rosetail. Fenomena tren mengoleksi ikan hias, khususnya ikan betta, yang berkembang secara berlebihan mencerminkan dinamika selera masyarakat yang terus berubah. Merespons fenomena tersebut, ide perancangan desain busana ini diangkat sebagai upaya menambah koleksi kreatif dalam ranah fashion sekaligus sebagai bentuk refleksi sosial agar masyarakat lebih bijak dalam memilih hobi. Desain busana digital ini mengadopsi pola unik sirip ikan betta dengan eksplorasi lipatan artistik. Sebagai inovasi visual, desain busana digital dikembangkan melalui penerapan teknik surface seperti 3D payet dan flounce pleated. Metode penciptaan yang digunakan mengacu pada pendekatan three stage design process yang meliputi tahap definition & research, creative exploration, dan implementation. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah empat koleksi desain busana digital ready to wear deluxe. Abstract: The dynamic development of fashion trends has driven the emergence of various innovative forms in fashion design. Inspiration in the design process often arises from the beauty of nature and surrounding social phenomena. This study focuses on the creation of a digital ready-to- wear deluxe fashion design inspired by the form and beauty of the halfmoon rosetail betta fish. The phenomenon of ornamental fish collecting—particularly betta fish—which has grown excessively, reflects the ever-changing dynamics of public taste. In response to this phenomenon, the concept of this fashion design was developed as an effort to enrich creative collections in the fashion domain and as a form of social reflection, encouraging the public to be more mindful in choosing hobbies. This digital fashion design adopts the unique fin patterns of betta fish through the exploration of artistic pleats. As a visual innovation, the design is developed using surface techniques such as 3D sequins and flounce pleats. The creation method follows the three-stage design process approach, which includes the stages of definition & research, creative exploration, and implementation. The final outcome of this study consists of three digital ready-to-wear deluxe fashion design collections.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh minimnya desainer busana yang mengeksplorasi desain ready to wear deluxe bergaya cyberpunk melalui penerapan kain cetak yang terinspirasi dari pamor Sekar Kopi pada keris. Dalam lanskap mode kontemporer, nilai-nilai artistik, simbolik, dan filosofis yang terkandung dalam pamor tersebut semakin kurang dikenal oleh generasi muda. Akibatnya, warisan budaya tradisional berisiko terpinggirkan dalam budaya visual modern. Oleh karena itu, penelitian penciptaan ini bertujuan untuk memperkaya keberagaman karya fesyen kontemporer sekaligus memperkenalkan kembali makna estetika dan filosofis pamor Keris Sekar Kopi kepada masyarakat luas, khususnya generasi muda. Proses penciptaan karya menerapkan pendekatan practice-based research yang melalui tiga tahapan utama, yaitu eksplorasi, pengembangan desain, dan perwujudan. Tahap eksplorasi berfokus pada kajian visual, simbolik, dan konseptual pamor Sekar Kopi; tahap pengembangan desain menerjemahkan nilai-nilai tersebut ke dalam bentuk visual bergaya cyberpunk; sedangkan tahap perwujudan merealisasikan desain melalui teknik digital printing pada kain. Hasil dari penelitian penciptaan ini berupa enam karya busana ready to wear deluxe yang mengintegrasikan simbolisme budaya tradisional dengan estetika futuristik cyberpunk. Karya-karya tersebut ditampilkan dalam sebuah pergelaran busana pada Jogja Fashion Parade, yang menunjukkan potensi teknologi digital. Abstract: This research is motivated by the lack of fashion designers who explore ready-to-wear deluxe designs with a cyberpunk style through the application of printed fabrics inspired by the pamor Sekar Kopi of the keris. In the contemporary fashion landscape, the artistic, symbolic, and philosophical values embodied in this pamor are increasingly unfamiliar to the younger generation. As a result, traditional cultural heritage risks being marginalized within modern visual culture. Therefore, this creative research aims to expand the diversity of contemporary fashion works while reintroducing the aesthetic and philosophical significance of the Keris Sekar Kopi pamor to the general public, particularly young audiences. The creation process applies a practice-based approach using three main stages: exploration, design development, and realization. The exploration stage focuses on visual, symbolic, and conceptual studies of the Sekar Kopi pamor; the design stage translates these values into cyberpunk-inspired visual forms; and the realization stage materializes the designs through digital printing techniques on fabric. The outcome of this creative research consists of six ready-to-wear deluxe fashion pieces that integrate traditional cultural symbolism with futuristic cyberpunk aesthetics. These works were showcased in a fashion show at the Jogja Fashion Parade, demonstrating the potential of digital technology and contemporary fashion design as a medium for cultural reinterpretation and preservation.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penciptaan koleksi Ryusen No Zankyo dilatarbelakangi oleh kecenderungan penerapan teknik Shibori dan Suminagashi yang masih dilakukan secara terpisah dalam pengembangan tekstil fesyen kontemporer. Kondisi tersebut membuka peluang untuk menghadirkan pendekatan integratif yang mampu menyatukan karakter aliran organik tinta dengan struktur lipatan geometris ke dalam satu konsep visual dan teknis. Penciptaan ini bertujuan mengembangkan eksplorasi permukaan tekstil melalui integrasi teknik Suminagashi dan Shibori (Nagabori) dan pada busana ready to wear deluxe bergaya edgy authentic. Metode yang digunakan ialah three-stage design process dalam kerangka practice-based research yang meliputi tahap Problem Definition, Creative Exploration, dan Implementation. Hasil penciptaan menunjukkan bahwa perpaduan teknik Nagabori menghasilkan karakter visual dinamis melalui efek motif Suminagashi yang membuat pola marmer abstrak dan lipatan Shibori yang menghasilkan pola motif geometris. Komposisi pewarna akrilik pada Suminagashi dan pewarna indigofera pada teknik Shibori memperkuat identitas motif kain dan desain koleksi.Selain menghadirkan nilai estetis yang unik, integrasi teknik tersebut juga membentuk kesatuan visual antara tekstil dan siluet busana. Penciptaan ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan inovasi teknik permukaan tekstil sebagai alternatif eksplorasi artistik dalam desain fesyen kontemporer.Kata kunci: Shibori, Suminagashi, ready to wear deluxe, edgy authentic, eksplorasi tekstil.   Abstract: The creation of the Ryusen No Zankyo collection was inspired by the tendency to apply Shibori and Suminagashi techniques separately in the development of contemporary fashion textiles. This condition creates an opportunity to establish an integrative approach capable of combining the organic flow of ink patterns with geometric folded structures within a unified visual and technical concept. This creation aims to develop textile surface exploration through the integration of Suminagashi and Shibori techniques, referred to as Nagabori, in edgy authentic ready-to-wear deluxe fashion. The method employed was the three-stage design process within a practice-based research framework, consisting of the stages of Problem Definition, Creative Exploration, and Implementation. The results of the creation demonstrate that the Nagabori technique produces dynamic visual characteristics through flowing motif effects, folded textures, and color compositions that strengthen the collection’s design identity. In addition to presenting unique aesthetic values, the integration of these techniques also creates visual harmony between the textile surface and garment silhouette. This creation contributes to the development of innovative textile surface techniques as an alternative form of artistic exploration in contemporary fashion design.

Abstract

Abstrak: Victorian style merupakan gaya busana yang berkembang pada era Victoria dan dikenal dengan cara berpakaiannya yang mencerminkan kesopanan, penggunaan hiasan yang dekoratif, dan desain yang rumit. Penciptaan karya ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kebutuhan eksplorasi visual busana estetika Victoria ke dalam bentuk yang lebih modern dan nyaman. Pemilihan tokoh Enola Holmes dijadikan inspirasi utama karena merepresentasikan dekonstruksi terhadap ciri khas busana era Victoria yang cenderung mengekang. Penciptaan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan koleksi busana yang dapat mencerminkan karakter tersebut dengan memadukan kenyamanan dan kepraktisan busana modern khas Era Victoria ke dalam kategori ready to wear deluxe. Ciri khas kemewahan era tersebut dipertahankan melalui aplikasi teknik embellishment yang detail, seperti sulam pita dan beading yang berfungsi menambah nilai estetika dan keunikan pada setiap busana. Metode penciptaan yang digunakan dalam perancangan mengacu pada metode S.P. Gustami, dengan tiga tahapan yaitu eksplorasi, perancangan, dan perwujudan. Hasil dari penciptaan ini berupa enam looks busana ready to wear deluxe disajikan dalam event fashion show pada Jogja Fashion Parade 2026. Koleksi ini diharapkan dapat memadukan kenyamanan dan kepraktisan busana modern dengan kemewahan serta detail khas era Victoria, khususnya melalui penggunaan teknik embellishment. Abstract: The Victorian style refers to a fashion style that developed during the Victorian era and is characterized by modest dressing, elaborate decorative embellishments, and intricate designs. The creation of this collection was inspired by the need to explore the visual aesthetics of Victorian fashion in a form that is more modern and comfortable. The character of Enola Holmes was chosen as the primary inspiration because she represents a deconstruction of the restrictive characteristics commonly associated with Victorian-era clothing. This project aims to create a ready-to-wear deluxe fashion collection that reflects Enola Holmes' character by combining the comfort and practicality of modern clothing with the distinctive aesthetics of the Victorian era. The luxurious essence of the period is preserved through the application of detailed embellishment techniques, such as ribbon embroidery and beading, which enhance the aesthetic value and uniqueness of each garment. The creative process follows S.P. Gustami's methodology, consisting of three stages: exploration, design, and realization. The outcome of this project is a collection of six ready-to-wear deluxe looks, presented at the Jogja Fashion Parade 2026 fashion show. This collection is expected to successfully integrate the comfort and practicality of modern fashion with the luxury and intricate details characteristic of the Victorian era, particularly through the use of embellishment techniques.
