This study aims to describe the implementation of Game Based Learning (GBL) in improving students' literacy and numeracy skills at SDN 1 Citalang, Purwakarta District. The researcher used a qualitative research paradigm with a case study approach. Respondents in the study included class teachers and students directly involved in the implementation of GBL. Data collection methods were carried out through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that (1) The implementation of GBL was carried out through three stages: planning which included identifying needs and selecting educational games, implementation which integrated games with literacy and numeracy materials, and process-based and outcome-based evaluation; (2) Students' responses to GBL were very positive, indicated by increased motivation, active involvement, and enthusiasm in participating in learning; (3) Supporting factors for the implementation of GBL included the availability of infrastructure, teacher creativity, and the characteristics of elementary school-aged students who enjoy playing activities; (4) Inhibiting factors were limited time, technological readiness, and difficulty in managing class dynamics. This study concludes that GBL is effective in improving students' literacy and numeracy skills and is recommended as an innovative learning strategy in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of instructional media in improving elementary school students' reading and writing literacy skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the use of storybooks and Student Worksheets (LKPD) as instructional media to improve the reading and writing literacy of second-grade students at SDN 1 Nagritengah, including the implementation process, students' responses, contributions to literacy development, and the supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The research subject consisted of one second-grade student at SDN 1 Nagritengah who had limited reading ability. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and SaldaƱa, which includes data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data credibility was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings revealed that the use of storybooks and Student Worksheets (LKPD) had a positive impact on improving students' reading and writing literacy. These instructional media increased students' interest in reading, improved reading comprehension, enriched vocabulary, enhanced their ability to retell stories, and increased their self-confidence in reading activities. Supporting factors included teachers' creativity in selecting instructional media, the availability of attractive storybooks, and students' enthusiasm during learning. Meanwhile, the main obstacle was students' limited vocabulary. Therefore, the use of storybooks and Student Worksheets (LKPD) can serve as an effective instructional strategy to support the School Literacy Movement (GLS) and improve elementary school students' reading and writing literacy skills.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the government sector has become an urgent need to improve the quality of governance and performance of civil servants. One form of implementation is the use of a digital attendance system as a replacement for the conventional attendance recording system. This study aims to identify and analyze the implementation process, obstacles, and impact of the use of digital attendance on improving employee work discipline at the Purwakarta Regency Education Office. The approach used is a case study. Data collection methods include passive participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis uses the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model and the Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) management function approach from George R. Terry. The results of the study indicate that (1) The implementation of digital attendance based on facial recognition and GPS-based applications has significantly changed employee attendance patterns; (2) This system is able to present accurate, real-time attendance data, and is free from manipulation, thus encouraging increased punctuality and compliance with work regulations; (3) Although technical obstacles were found in the form of networks and differences in technological adaptability, the system's linkage with the Employee Performance Allowance (TPP) and consistent supervisory policies make this system run effectively. In conclusion, the implementation of a digital attendance system based on facial recognition and GPS in the Purwakarta Regency Education Office has been implemented in accordance with applicable regulations, and has been able to significantly increase the level of employee discipline.
