Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of morning activities as a character building program for students and the process of recontextualizing Pancasila values for elementary school students at SDN Cigabus, Serang City. This study was conducted to gain an understanding of the integration of Pancasila values in routine morning activities and their reinterpretation in accordance with the social development, school culture, and digital reality of elementary school students. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method carried out in the SDN Cigabus environment through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by referring to Thomas Lickona's character education theory which includes moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action as well as the concept of recontextualizing Pancasila values. The results showed that morning activities at SDN Cigabus were carried out routinely through morning lines, greetings and shaking hands with teachers, joint prayers, reading short letters, flag ceremonies, Friday sermons, clean Fridays, and morning exercises, which functioned as a means of fostering religious character, discipline, responsibility, politeness, mutual cooperation, social care, and love for the homeland. The values of Pancasila are recontextualized by linking them to the real experiences of elementary school students, including social media ethics, responsible use of gadgets, cooperation, simple deliberation, and fair division of tasks, thus forming religious character, discipline, responsibility, social concern, and student participation in school life.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of natural media in Pancasila Education to foster environmental awareness among elementary school students. This study uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory type. The study was conducted at SD Peradaban Serang in January 2026 with research subjects consisting of two Pancasila Education teachers and ten fourth and fifth grade students selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through method triangulation. The research findings indicate that natural media, such as dried leaves, small stones, twigs, and plants in the school environment, can be utilized as contextual learning resources in Pancasila Education. The use of natural media was able to increase students’ activeness, enthusiasm, and engagement in the learning process. In addition, nature-based learning encouraged the development of environmental awareness, responsibility, and cooperation as forms of practicing Pancasila values, particularly the second, third, and fifth principles. Teachers played an important role in planning, implementing, and connecting the use of natural media with learning materials and Pancasila values, thereby making the learning process more meaningful. The conclusion of this study shows that natural media is an effective alternative learning resource in supporting contextual Pancasila education and contributes to fostering environmental awareness among elementary school student.

Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to describe the implementation of various outbound program activities at SD Peradaban Serang in forming the self-confidence character of grade 4 students. This study discusses the importance of students having high self-confidence so that students can apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in developing their own interests, talents and skills/capabilities maturely. However, in reality, the function of education as a means of forming student character has not been fully implemented or has not been optimally applied in the educational environment itself. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study showed that the outbound program consisting of flying fox activities, fun games, and life skills was able to foster six indicators of self-confidence character, namely: confident in one's own abilities, optimistic, responsible, rational, brave, and objective. Overall, of the 17 students observed, most of them received the highest assessment reaching 4.5. with the predicate "good" to "very good" in the self-confidence indicator. This shows that the outbound program is effective in forming students' self-confident character through fun and meaningful direct experiences. This outbound program is effective in forming students' self-confident character through selected activities that have been adjusted by the school.
