Abstract

In Indonesia, approximately 40% to 50% of the population experiences sleep disorders, most of whom are elderly. These sleep disorders usually occur simultaneously with other conditions such as physical problems and mental illnesses (depression, anxiety disorders) that can lead to poor sleep quality. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of lavender aromatherapy on sleep quality of elderly at Klinik Harmonisasi Chi Medika in 2025. The research method used was a true experiment with one experimental group or treatment group and one control group. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a total of 32 respondents. The results of the univariate pre-test analysis of sleep quality in the intervention group and control group showed that all respondents (100%) had poor sleep quality. The post-test of sleep quality in the intervention group showed that almost all respondents (87.5%) had good sleep quality. The control group showed that all respondents (100%) had poor sleep quality. The results of the bivariate analysis of the Wilcoxon test obtained p count in the intervention group (p=0.001). The control group (p=0.066). The Mann-Whitney test results on the post-test data showed that the mean rank of the intervention group was 8.69, while the control group was 24.31 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Lavender aromatherapy has an effect on the sleep quality of elderly at Klinik Harmonisasi Chi Medika in 2025. The results of this study can be used as a reference for clinics or health care facilities to integrate lavender aromatherapy as a non-pharmacological complementary therapy in an effort to improve the sleep quality of elderly.

Abstract

Bullying in schools remains a serious problem that impacts students' mental health, particularly at the junior high school level. Data from the Indonesian Teachers' Union Federation shows an increase in bullying cases from 21 to 30 in 2023, with 50% occurring at the junior high school level. Furthermore, anxiety disorders are experienced by 4.1–5.3% of adolescents, and depression by 1.3–3.4%, potentially disrupting students' learning and psychological well-being. Therefore, anti-bullying character education is needed as a preventative measure to create a safe school environment and support students' mental health. This study aims to determine the effect of anti-bullying character education on student mental health at SMP Negeri 19, Bengkulu City. The method used was a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The study sample consisted of 160 students selected using stratified random sampling. The research instruments were an anti-bullying character education questionnaire and a mental health questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The analysis showed that before the intervention, most students were in the moderate category for bullying (56.3%), and after the intervention, most were in the low category (60.6%). The mental health of students in the undisturbed category increased from 51.9% to 63.1% after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant effect of anti-bullying character education on student mental health (p < 0.05). The researchers recommend that schools implement anti-bullying character education sustainably, including bullying prevention efforts, and improve student mental health.

This study used a cross sectional research design. The sample in this study were patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who visited the Sawah Lebar Public Health Center using an accidental sampling technique. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis with statistical tests. The results showed that most respondents had good self care management and some respondents had controlled blood glucose levels. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between self care management and blood glucose levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with a p-value < 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between self care management and blood glucose levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
